Ironically enough, before hearing about this game's existence I didn't care much for anime but thought this game looked really cool. Despite having introduced me to One Piece, my all-time favorite anime, and also broaden my horizons to several others, it didn't stop me from expressing my distaste for it when I finally got the game. After starting the game, I got bored within 30 minutes. The 4 story modes are practically identical to one another and the game gets repetitive very quickly and feels somewhat janky at times. There are some anime brawlers that improve over this game, but the genre as a whole just doesn't work or at the very least needs a rehaul. Besides having a decent roster and a few sentimental ties to this game, it really isn't that good and there are much better fighting games out there.

Playing as Kenshin is enough to break the game. Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū has no equal!

This game got a full rerelease for the PS4, and got an English release which was a very surprising given the nature of these crossover games... And yet they didn't update or fix many of the original problems I had with the game.
It's still very light on content, still has a boring story mode, and the fighting is extremely monotonous. I'm happy that this got an English release, but they should've done more than this. My original statement stands, of you love this history of Shonen Jump then you can find fun here, otherwise just skip.

Being the fanboy that I am I’m compelled to play any video game that has Goku’s face on it, but this one is just a hot pile of mid. Maybe I would’ve enjoyed it more if I recognized more than a handful of franchises represented here (if it didn’t play on Toonami or Adult Swim in the 2000s I don’t know what it is) but even then I don’t think that would’ve stopped the combat from getting boring after five minutes.
The story mode here is an absolute slog to get through, one of the worst I’ve played in a fighting game. I get that with the sheer amount of characters here having the story mode be fully voiced would’ve been expensive, but what we have here is a mode where you just watch jpegs talk to each other until you’re thrown into combat, rinse repeat until you get sick of it and eject the disc from your console.
If you just want a bunch of fan service I guess this is your game but otherwise stay far away

Man, this game is really bad in every aspect. It's so boring my god and the combat is so simple and plain.
O gameplay é dahora, mas essa versão americana é bem fraca na questão de trilha sonora, enquanto a japonesa tem todas as musicas dos animes, essa tem umas genéricas bem ruins e poucas licenciadas.
Fanservice muito bem feito, com muitas obras de diferente gêneros, da pra ver que esse jogo foi realmente feito por fãs da Jump, diferente daquele jogo, o tanto de detalhe sobre as obras que tem aqui é muito legal, eu amo que tem poucos personagens de cada mangá mas tem muitos mangas. A gameplay do jogo não é melhor mas acho divertidinha, acho bem subestimado, se você é fã da Jump é um most play com certeza

Wow what a generic ass game. Nothing special here besides a good roster of anime characters. There is a reason why this game has no community behind it because it died on release. Jump Force outclasses this game is almost everyway. Fighting mechanics are shallow and the presentation is lackluster. Don't buy it.
Better than Jump Force at least.
