A game that I deeply enjoyed but can't truly recommend.

It has... problems. It fumbles it's ending so so bad. It's really weird about teenagers and romance. It doesn't make good on the promises of what it's choice and flow chart system should mean.

And yet. And yet.

I still had a blast playing it. I think this game is really carried by it's protagonist - I'd say he's a mix of Sigma Klim and Battler Ushiromiya, with some of his own insanity bundled in. His charisma really carries the game, even in its weakest moments. えっと...

Also, this game goes above and beyond with its new game +. Literally so much fun getting to go back through with revelations mode on and seeing the inner dialogue of other characters.

Sweet jesus this final route was garbage

Who the heck is Haruaki Fusaishi

Thrilling murder mystery which fails its ending completely.

i remember being completely hooked up until the part when the writers decide that it was cute to loredump near the end for some reason??? it ruined the momentum for me so i havent touched it since :/

This VN sounds good on paper- Werewolf the game- but oh good god, after reading this I never want to play Werewolf again. Too much of the script is pointless deliberation over a game that isn't even that deep. My brain gave up halfway through and I just started skipping through the plot as fast as I could. A great concept but the writing and localization was not strong enough to pull it off.

Raging Loop is the perfect VN. It balances horror, heart, and suspense in such a fascinating way. While there's definitely some hiccups and some tropes I don't like, this was my everything and honestly? Is my Visual Novel of the Year (despite coming out in late 2019.)

The first three routes are perfect 5/5-10/10 i fucking discovered who the villain was by the tone of the're voice, but the last route is such a letdown, it has it's moments, the beginning and some other parts, but the resolution of the misteries are dumb, but the epilogues are pretty fun, super weird sometimes and thats nice

final não é tão bom e os epilogos tbm não mas a experiencia por completo vale a pena, te amo Chiemi Serizawa.

Took too long to really get going and I lost interest.

While I wish some elements of Raging Loop's plot had more resolution, it was still a fun ride from start to finish

Visual novels are known for their big dumb endings, I don't know if I've seen one nosedive as hard as this one does though. Everything before that is fine, if a little mid. Like others have said, the protagonist is pretty interesting and probably the only real reason to recommend this.

If you haven't already read the Spike Chunsoft VNs there isn't a reason to recommend Raging Loop over those. If you have read them, you won't get much more out of this unless you REALLY like werewolf for some reason.

Ending fumbles but rest of the game is good 6.5

Game #37: Raging Loop

Raging Loop is an another VN that features the flowchart mechanic. Story is really good, in every flow you experience totally different things and on top of that it's humorous too. Definitely one of my favorite games.

9/10

Nice story some good play through some boring ones the length was too much for me couldn’t stay focus on some play through due to repetitive scenes and repetitive music not a fan of the art style

I've rarely been this angry at a VN

Very fun VN based on mixing battle of wits and Higurashi-style howdunit mystery designed to be "solvable" by the reader before the solution is presented. Almost all events are possible to foresee on some level by following hints, which I really appreciate. The battle of wits was fantastic, piecing the various puzzles and whodunits was satisfying, the MC is fun and doesn't fall for usual problems of his trope. There are some weaknesses (below average voice acting, insistence on adding romance everywhere, + some spoilery issues) but I will still jump on anything sequely or similar from the devs if it comes.

i hate this game but i love it but i hate it

The visual novel equivalent of a werewolf game. Its a fun ride for sure.

Interessantes Visual Novel. Wer mit viel lesen kein Problem hat, kann hier locker zugreifen.

The ending is just an incredible catastrophe and some of the writing choices made are uh, not great. Still has some solid writing and a cast which is fine but makes you wonder how great it truly could've been if it stuck the landing in the last act.

haruaki fusaishi guy of all time

Basing the story around a game of Werewolf and combining it with a zero escape-ish scenario chart with a lot of bad ends made it a really interesting experience. The pacing is very well-done and I was consistently engaged for the whole story. The characters are all at least a little nuanced and work very well for a werewolf game with how their behavior is adjusted according to their guardians. I especially liked Kiyonosuke since I love when the generally unlikable and stuck-up character gets more depth to them. Haruaki is an excellent main character that really elevates the story with his cool/comical demeanor, sound logic and borderline psychopathic attitude. The twists and turns the story takes are all pretty interesting, though I was kind of disappointed when they revealed the feasts were man-made despite there already being established supernatural elements in the story. The dialogue is well-written, the music is fitting, and the artstyle works well for the dark nature of the story by not being too clean.

Took too long to get going to the point where I couldn't bring myself to care, wasn't entertaining or interesting enough to remember the plot.

Accessible and with a very well crafted plot, Raging Loop feels a bit disappointing regarding the art style of its settings and some of the endings are inconsequential but the overall result is an experience that is welcoming for both fans of visual novels and for beginners.
👉opencritic SUMMARY

Raging Loop is a visual novel that stands out not just for its plot but for the way it is structured and how the player interacts with it. Some of the endings feel out of place and the game's art style falls short of expectations when it comes to the backdrops but the overall experience turns out to be satisfying and the game is crafted in a way that plays perfectly in the Nintendo Switch.
