had the ds version and besides nostalgia i dont care for it

this is the game that killed F-Zero. Nintendo knew they could never one up this

Pretty impressive for a movie tie-in game.

Surprisingly inventive game based on the Wachowski film. You can side-ram opponents or drive up to them from behind and flick them into the air. You can spin around as an attack, you can jump into the air and you can even attack from the air! All these things are done with just the Wii remote and it's surprisingly intuitive. Also: When you boost, the screen turns all LSD-like. If you want a breath of fresh air, definitely give this game a shot. Splitscreen co-op also included. (So fun!) Your mind will probably be screaming "WHY ISN'T THERE AN F-ZERO LIKE THIS??"

Also on PS2 with more racers and tracks, but severely downgraded visuals.

Another example of a genuinely great licensed game. The controls feel good and the "car-fu" adds depth to the racing allowing you to destroy your opponents cars. The music in this game goes hard af. Also probably biased cuz I loved the movie as a kid and it's still one of my favorite movies of all time.

Definitely not as awesome as I remember it.

So apparently Nintendo doesn’t have any new ideas to bring to F-Zero? Pfft. Listen here, kid. Let me show you a real man’s F-Zero. F-Zero with MOTION CONTROLS.

Well, you can still remove the motion controls from this game and get a kick-ass racing game based off a legacy IP. Speed Racer the videogame is a thrilling experience. A game worthy of praise and recognition. Is there any other racing game where you can perform “car-fu?” No? Exactly. Car-fu is badass and fighting other racers while going over 200mph is pure bliss.

They even went hard for the soundtrack. Why does the soundtrack go so hard? It’s just a movie tie-in video game. Yet the soundtrack goes HARD. Too hard. Man. This game is flawless. Sure, the A.I. cheats most of the time and when you go zone mode, the Nintendo Wii suffers and all you see is pixelated mess. Sure, sometimes it feels like an automatic roller-coaster and the slightest move left or right sends you flying off the track…but give this game a 4K remaster with new graphics…oh lord. Nintendo has no excuses for the absence of F-Zero when this banger exists.

Another one of my favorite childhood games, this was so cool. The different type of moves you could do with your car to crash the other racers, every race track looked so unique and the soundtrack was incredible.

if f-zero ever got to come back, this is a game they should copy from.

eu não me lembro,quero rejogar

< 1er vistazo #105 >

Surprisingly decent for what it is. The game is all about building speed as you try to take down opponents who are always on their way to overtake you. There's not many modes and the tracks and characters are fairly samey, but it's a decent way to kill time.

The car fu mechanic is something I'd like to see more widely adapted, I will have to check out the main console version at some point.

A cool racing game where you have yo beat up your racers to make it on top.

The Wii version was better, but now the emulator upscaled PS2 version is the way to play.

I don't know why they done and put some real effort into this when making this movie tie-in game. The effort pays off in most ways as the racing actually fucking bangs at times. Not crazy about the some of the courses because of how many damn curves there are but it's challenging at least.

isn't every racer a speed racer? A slow racer wouldn't do very well

I'm a simple woman. I see an F-Zero inspired game with a focus on combat while racing and I am 100% on board. AND I get to play as Togokahn? WOO!!!

much like the movie, if they made this today it would probably be hailed as one of the greatest video games ever made

Sideramming opponents by jolting the Wii mote to either side felt really intuitive, and there is a bunch more cool stuff you can do, like driving up to opponents from behind and then flip them into the air. The ideas in this game really ought to have been put to use in an F-Zero game at some point, but I guess Nintendo stopped making those.

If you haven't played this, recommended you do so with a friend, this is veeeeeeeeerrry fun to play splitscreen.

The visuals are blurry but the art style is pretty good at least. The screen will suddenly go all LSD style when doing a boost. Amen to that.

Still to this day will argue this game is MAD underrated. The sound track is flames, The track design is flames, The character roster is flames, The game mechanics are flames. The GAME IS FLAMES is what im trying to say.

It lacks game modes. It lacks progression. The circuits are not memorable. But it just really fun. Car-fu is the best thing in this game, and that alone made me play through all the tournaments without getting bored. Really good game. This game is the definition of great gameplay tops everything else.

This is actually such a good racing game, and shows off the Speed Racing franchise, characters and crazy high speed fun it has so well.

Very nice if you take into account that this is for the DS.

Mario Kart + mortal kombat + macaco do Speed Racer = mitada
