A school project and you can tell, but some of the dev's inputs were pretty funny. It makes you think, and that's enough for me.

It's funny, melancholic, ironic and trashy at the same time.

And for some reason, I can't bring myself to hate it even though it's a low-quality rage platformer with funny quips and not much more.

Well, the devs wanted the game to be a maddening hell and achieved just that.

This game sets out on what it wants to be, and successfully became it. It wanted to be bad, so of course the game is bad. Yeah. Not much else to say about it otherwise.
