This game had such a small bar to overcome, I was really disappointed with Pokemon Rumble on the Wii U and I was like, Okay, anything can be better than this, but I was sorely mistaken when this game came out.
I really dislike how everything is locked behind a paywall and a wait timer as the past games allowed you to explore freely. Unfortunately for this game, it allowed virtually no free roaming. I wouldn't be surprised if this game slowly faded into darkness overtime. Thanks for reading!

Even though its not a traditional Pokémon game, it is a lot of fun to play and I enjoyed going through the whole thing. My favorite thing to do was replay the missions with stronger Pokémon then one shot everything. I also enjoyed getting some of the legendries and playing with those. It's one of the better Pokémon spin-off games.
I beat this game without using any microtransactions and it was my daily for just over a year. My 3DS Activity Log says my play time is 187:45 and I started up the game 1,113 times. This was because there was a timer for entering a level and you would have to use microtransactions to skip it. In the late game some timers went up to 20 hours. You couldn't actually select the level you wanted either, it would randomize between a group of levels. Despite this, you still had to play every level in order to beat the story mode.
Just days before I had finished the game, Nintendo released the game for retail so you could play it without having to dance around the microtransactions. I probably wouldn't have bought that version anyways but I sure felt played.

The gameplay loop can be very addictive but it’s very grindy. If you really want to see the credits, it feels impossible to reach that point reasonably without paying for micro transactions. I spent €18, got to the credits, collected all the Pokémon and did all the king’s requests except for the last one. Because the last one requires you to grind in an unhealthy way, by grinding for Pokémon with special traits and specific moves. The reason why I’m giving the game this score, is to make you aware that you will hit a wall where you are going to have to pay. Are you okay with that? Also the random nature of selecting a stage unless you use gems is super annoying. The game received a patch where you can use a balloon (every 20 hours) to bring you to Pokémon that still need to be captured. This is a blessing. I can’t imagine dealing with the game without this balloon. All of this lasted 96 hours which is not bad for the price I paid, even though I wasn’t planning on paying this much.
