Easily the best of the Advance trilogy. Besides some cheap spike placement and bottomless pits, the levels are overall really good and the partner abilities make them even more fun to traverse. Not quite as fast as Advance 2, but that's a good thing when it comes to the tougher platforming challenges later in the game.
Sonic Advance 3 is easily the weakest in the series, and this is due to a lot of interesting ideas being executed in a mediocre fashion. While SA3 certainly isn't a bad game, it really tries too many things at once to really create a robust system for any of the new ideas it wants to try.At the least, SA3 can be enjoyed by fans, but its better if everyone else plays one of the earlier games in the advance series.
A great sendoff to the Sonic Advance trilogy. Everything you'd love/hate about the previous games appears here as well. It still has all the 5 characters, with their gameplay styles from both advance games, cool air dashes and boost mode, but also has many endless pits, cheap enemy placement and frustrating to access special stages. The partner mechanic is well implemented and succeeds adding variety, though it can be confusing at first.
Definitely feels like a bit of a middle ground between advance 1 and advance 2, where the level design is a bit more explorable and not extremely linear like 2s was, but also you still need to find a ton of dumb collectables to actually finish the game just like 2 so that's fun. Theres a new mechanic in this game where you pick 2 characters to play with and your character combination dictates what moves you can use which is actually a pretty neat concept that keeps things fresh. They did something to the physics though, the way sonic and co. control in this game is very strange even compared to the previous 2 games. The level themes are still very cool just like the previous 2 games and the OST bops even on the gba speakers so give it a shot if ya want.
