Simple and fun, sometimes that's all a game needs to be. Kinda weird seeing it so low on the list on this site.
Too much teaming amongst skilled players to truly be enjoyable casually but it is addicting in some ways.
You eat the little guys to become big and sometimes you spawn in servers with big guys so you get eaten constantly. I remember this 9 years later why did I ever play this?

edit 3.5 -> 4.0: honestly this is the best io game for me now. it's simple but it doesnt have the same illusion of depth as something like diep. great game.
