The best set of three games money can buy. Even the weakest game in the trilogy would probably be my favorite game if it was the only one.

First time making a review, could have been better but yeah

When it comes to series that will forever hold a special place in my heart: this is the very work that has formed/shaped my taste in fiction as a whole. The Dark Souls Trilogy is everything I ever wanted and has everything that I now value. My experience of playing Dark Souls 1 was an unforgettable one, everything about the game during my first playthrough was amazing in every way, from the setting perfectly fitting for a dark fantasy game like Dark Souls to each NPC being memorable and of course, the bosses along with their lore and soundtracks. Dark Souls 2 wasn't really that bad,I like it actually.

But Dark Souls 3...I have no words to explain how beyond perfection this game is,the game manages to perfectly end the series in a perfect way imaginable. The Soundtracks were beautiful, glorious and impactful. The Boss Pantheon never missed, each of the bosses' lore and soundtracks along with their fights were masterpiece in full details. Add all of that in a full package DURING the first experience of playing it,I got myself a game that will never leave my #1.

Thank you,Miyazaki.

1 is a masterpiece, 2 is bad, 3 is a return to form that while great, doesn't reach the same heights as the first. Prepare to cry when it's all over.

Progresso: 1/3 jogos. 1/6 DLCs.

Artorias of the Abyss - KINO KINO KINO KINOOOOOOOOOOOO O ARTORIAS E O MANUS SAO DOIS DOS BOSSES MAIS FODA QUE EU JA ENFRENTEI EM UM JOGO PUTA QUE PARIUUUUU ATE OS NPC SAO LEGAL DE LUTAR CARA COMO PODE VAI PRA PORRA KINOOOOOOO *As áreas são bem da bosta, Darkroot Garden Parte 2 O Retorno deveria morrer.

Miyazaki é um gênio, não tem como.

Perfeito

Got this on a whim. Completed the first game... now 2, 3, and Bloodborne are on the list. May the Great Old Ones have mercy on my soul.

The trilogy and the souls series in general is pretty much the peak of the third person melee-focused 3D action RPG genre and the supreme jack of all trades of everything i like about video games and everything a good video game should be: simple but satisfying combat, a challenge, infinite replayability and customization thanks to the insane build variety, cool level design, cool boss fights, great enemy variety, cool music, memorable characters...

The series has my favorite stamina system in videogames: is in the perfect balance between not be too restrictive and not be too permissive, covering all your ofensive and defensive options (all forms of attacking, blocking with shields, parrying, dodge, running, even your weight affects stamina regeneration and has a negative stamina mechanic) instead like in most games where the stamina bar is either an artificial limitation, a bar for some special moves or just for sprinting and climbing, in this games it's such an integral part of the experience and it has so much synergy with the rest of the mechanics that something is lost without it.
And a little nitpick but I like the status effect system, having a gauge that slowly fills up per area of contact or per hit is an amazing way to implement status ailments in a melee action-rpg without resorting to nasty RNG or making it instant, more action-rpg should do it and if you hate moviegames dark souls games are pretty much the antitesis of those.

No wonder he ended up creating an entire subgenre of action RPG and his mainstream success is probably part of the reason why we're seeing more melee action RPGs in general, as this franchise has shown the industry that those types of games have a great potential yet to be discovered.

3 goats wrapped into one package.

Dark Souls Remastered- Has the best areas in the trilogy, but area quality drops in the last third of the game. bosses tend to be pretty good, with a couple pretty big exceptions (bed of chaos, capra demon). interconnectivity is awesome, but it is insanely easy to get lost. wonderful graphics and style, and an iconic soundtrack. pretty great game, 8/10.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin- Lore is cool, pretty visually appealing, pretty good soundtrack and I like majula. past that though? yeah this game blows. I don't remember liking a single area, forgettable and bad bosses with very few exceptions, adaptability, slow healing, no fog wall invincibility frames, and it honestly just feels worse to play than any of the other soulsborne games. not worth the pain, 4/10

Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades - Areas are more inconsistant in quality, and the linearity is pretty disappointing, but it makes up for that by being the best playing game in the trilogy with some excellent bosses and probably the best soundtrack in the trilogy. Plus, soul of cinder is probably one of my favorite bosses, ever. 8/10. Same score as DS1 but i do prefer ds3 over it.

This trilogy is legendary, but if i'm being honest, all of them are outmatched by their spinoffs (bloodborne, sekiro, etc) in basically every way. Still, they are all very much worth at least one playthrough (except for ds2 lmao, spare yourself).
