Amazing game with a lot of content, fun and carnage.
I am not a big fan of racing games, not at all, but the only exception for me, is FlatOut 2. The different game modes, the amount of stuff to do, the great variety in cars, it is just perfect.
In FlatOut 2, you can choose three modes to play. You can finish traditional races, in which you race for first place, you can choose derby mode (my personal favorite), in which you try to wreck other players or bots in a arena style battle, and lastly, you got a ton of minigames, in which you yeet out your ragdoll driver to make him perform certain tricks, smash him against a target, throw him as far as you can. It is just so much fun.
The game is simple, easy to understand and a little silly, but that is the whole charm of it. It plays great, the controls are responsive, and this is the only racing game in which I feel that I am in control.
The graphics still look impressive for the time. The detail in the cars, the damage that you took which is reflected on your car and the tire marks all look great. The framerate is smooth as ever and overall, there is nothing to complain about.
The sound effects of roaring engines, the crash sounds and the braking, all sounds great. The rocking music when playing derby mode is also amazing.
Like mentioned, the controls are fluent. The handling and grip is very good and for once, I felt like I was not driving on ice, but just a dirt road with some traction.
The mini games are hilarious. You need to throw your player as close to a certain target as possible for example, so you need to hit a road block in a certain way, with a certain speed to make it happen. The janky animations when your dude flies out of the window is just so silly and stupid, that it made me laugh many times.
This game will keep you entertained for many hours and for its price, it offers a lot of content and replay value.
FlatOut 2 is one of the games I always play on LAN Parties and it never stops being fun. The derby mode remains my all time favorite and traditionally, we end our play session by letting the game crash when we wrecked each other at the same time in the middle of the arena, with the Batmobile.
Definitely recommend this game.

FlatOut walked so Wreckfest could run. Great soundtrack, it’s satisfying to hit other cars, and the demolition derby mode is fun. There’s also a minigame focused on launching your driver out the windshield, but I didn’t really touch it because it was tough to beat the AI’s scores.
I only have two issues, one of which is the physics. Cars are very sensitive to elevation changes and junk in the streets(which there is a lot of after the first lap). If you run over anything, there’s a 50-50 chance your car will flip over and/or lose control. Which is problematic because of my second complaint…
The AI. I didn’t notice it until I was at the end of Career mode with fast cars, but rubberbanding became brutal. Even if your racing was on point, sometimes the AI will barrel right through you, going so fast they can’t even stay straight on a straightaway. The rubberbanding is very obvious on some tracks.

Easily one of the most overrated racing games of all time imo. The only good thing about This game is the soundtrack but even then if I wanted a fast paced arcade racer with a theme of destruction with a kickass soundtrack I would just play burnout 3 or revenge lmao

Although the game is good, I didn’t like the physics, maybe it was better before, but now any game in this genre is better, the desired path is not cut off from the map, and any cardboard box that falls on your path can throw you off the road into a tree, but Despite all the possible disadvantages, there is a huge plus - an excellent soundtrack

One of the hardest laughs I’ve ever had was from launching a ragdoll from a car in this game with my friend as a kid. Slapstick comedy at its finest.

Best arcade racing game right next to the Underground duo. at least when you're thirteen and the sheer scale of fucking shit up overwhelms you just right
This game is one of the coolest and stranger car games out there. I loved spending hours and hours with friends destroying the cars and playing the minigames to try and throw away the driver as far as possble in addition to all of the other crazy things. Games like this will probably never come back because they were too much fun for the industry.
This game was my childhood.
The cars, the music, the physics, the silly minigames, eveyrhing felt too 2000's. Sadly, it lacks variety and it's as basic as it gets.
But for what it is, it's a great Derby-Type game.

8 Player Flatout 2 Minigames on Home Parties a good time. But be prepared to yell the name of the person who's turn it is through the entire house many times. Because nobody will wait 7 turns and just watch. They'll go get drinks or be playing another game in the meantime... it's just a hassle... but thats not the games fault.
There is racing too... doesn't affect me any.
