Am I mentally unstable if I take great joy in looking into my opponents eyes as I punch him over and over until his head explodes into giblets?
Edit: I was too much of a coward at the time to admit that I never actually beat this. The final boss is so unfun to fight that I just gave up lol. Really fun if you don't care about beating it though.

I've played this on and off since the early days of VR, and it's still fun. The game is pretty simple, just beat little cartoony dudes in gladiator combat, but the weapons feel fun to use, and I love the style of zany violence. I wish it had stick turn, but it's nice to see a game this old that has proper controls for the index. Must-have for vr.
my face when i beat this by accident today
gorn is a real fun game, that just lacks a lot of polish, killing enemies feels good and fun, the cartoony gore of course adding a lot to that fun, but damn, some of these weapons are just NOT IT man, anything that's two handed (with some exceptions) is just a no go, too cumbersome to use and just... too weak.
there is a bit of story and lore, it's elaborated upon at all but that's fine, it's just there to give you something to do, and honestly, i found myself really getting immersed into the role of a gladiator, i did in fact scream at the top of my lungs after every single battle
if i had to complain about anything that isn't the lack of polish and the controls (both of which i can excuse due to this being an early VR title), would be the final boss fight, which took me 50 minutes to realize you have to throw the heads that are incoming towards you into the boss, which by the way is very hard. feels like playing tennis but, worse.
also as a side note, this is the first game i've played that does not have any loading screens at all, except maybe for when launching the game, it just, fades to black, unfades to gameplay, which might be a genuine advantage into making me choosing to play this over blade and sorcery or something
very fun game.

Recently got a Oculus Quest 2 and this was the first game I bought because when I watched Jacksepticeye play it it looked like one of the coolest games ever. While I get a lot of the criticisms, I really have no choice but to give this game a 5 out of 5 just because of how fun it is. It can be surprisingly violent, especially if you are using the claws, swords, or axes. I also like how it doesn’t take itself to seriously or to sillily. It’s also not too hard and not too easy, and when you beat the final boss, despite how stupid it is, you feel like an absolute bad ass. This is some of the most fun I’ve had playing games in a long time.
The most fun melee combat has ever been in VR, and the game that sold me on getting my own headset when I tried it at a friend's house. Wobbly weapons is a funny yet genius solution to the medium's inherent issue of lack of physical feedback for your actions. The cartoony art style lends itself well to the concept, too--I'd just find what I'm doing morbid and horrifying if the visuals of causing impalement, decapitation, and organ removal to my enemies was realistic. Also, any VR game that gives its player a middle finger gesture even without finger-tracking controls automatically gets bonus points.
My only real complaint is that I just wish there was more. DLC? Sequel? Please?
