Guns, Gore & Cannoli is a 2D shooter platformer game. I could say that's what "Contra" should be to stay relevant today. It's not as frenetic and challenging as the old classic, but it's still enjoyable.

The gameplay is perfect for what it intends to do. There are a lot of things happening at the same time on your screen, and you have to manage to kill your enemies while avoiding being hit. You'll face zombies that hurt you when they get close and humans that will shoot at you.

The story is a bit crazy, mixing zombies and the Mafia. I'm pretty sure the developers didn't intend for it to be the focus here, but it's kind of funny in some events.

The art is really good. It's a cartoon design that matches pretty well with the vibe of the game.

Guns, Gore & Cannoli is a fun game. It's short but worth every Penny. I think you should give it a chance if you find it at a good price.

Side scrolling shooter where you play as a mob enforcer in the 20s that has to fight through zombies, a rival mob, and the army to do a job for your boss. Good variety of weapons and enemies and satisfying action. Kick move is surprising useful as you continue to reload while doing it and can knock enemies into fire, off cliffs, or just do it to stun them. The few boss fights there are aren't very good and the bullet sponge style takes away from the more gory kills, explosions, and death animations of the main enemies, but that aside a pretty fun quick game.

A fairly passable platformer about zombies... with the mafia... with biological mutants. Okay, we bought it, but the most interesting guns are only given out at the end of the game. Still, the controls are not the most pleasant, and the game is right to be considered as a co-op platformer for the evening.

Достаточно проходной платформер про зомби.. с мафией.. с биологическими мутантами. Ладно, купили, но самые интересные пушки выдают только под конец игры. Все же не самое приятное управление, и игру правильно рассматривать как ко-оп платформер на вечер.

A very middling experience. There's nothing fundamentally broken, but I don't think I will remember anything about it in a month or so. The shootybangs were reasonably fun, though reloading and changing weapons takes maybe a bit too long. Some enemies are right bastards and I had to repeat one or two sections a couple of times, but besides the odd difficulty spikes I didn't have much trouble beating the game in normal. Story is pretty minimal, and predictable. The game tries to do comedy fairly often, but it never made me laugh. I've complained a lot, but like I said before the game has nothing irredeemable. I got it for very cheap on a bundle, its not a bad purchase at a big discount. The game does have co-op, which I did not try. It's most likely a much more fun experience with friends.
