A really engaging riff on Alien from the lens of a Japanese dev, JESUS is full of excellent visual design and initially compelling characters that loses steam fast in the face of incredibly clunky and unclear progression requirements and a tendency to throw characters to the wolves in an instant.
It really appealed to me in a way most adventure games from the NES can't, but after my fiftieth time "patrolling" the ship for threats I was overly eager to finally have the game finished.

lots of clever ideas both narrative and mechanical, really impressive use of color and sound design, super sleek presentation, just a blast all around. felt like such a breath of fresh air that it allowed itself to be on the talkier-side compared to the other famicom ADVs ive been playing. this is the first game of the bunch that really feels like it has a big, cinematic finale. im extremely impressed!!!!
