Bite-sized quick fun. I loved going around conquering the districts.

I've developed a thing for yankii culture, and this is perfect, from the funny special moves to the staring and cussing before a fight.

1 extra star for any game where you can beat up high schoolers

This was a really unexpected hit for me! I kinda knew I would end up enjoying it, but I loved this. It's such a cute, bite-sized experience full of charm and personality. The world is shockingly big, with tons of areas each with shops and people to fight. The combat, while stiff, is satisfying and fun to get the hang of. And I love the little romance-tinged plot. Trash talking your opponents is a fun mechanic, even if it's easy... idk, I feel like it doesn't sound like the greatest, but I had an excellent time with this! It's a shame this is the only one in the series that got localized... I'm gonna still try the other ones out and see if the language barrier is too much.

The combat system is pretty similar to that of a beat 'em up game, which is fine, but also makes things get monotonous a lot more quickly.
The rudimentary RPG system is welcome, but I didn't feel like it added too much to the variety of your gameplay style.
The game has a calendar system and you gotta decided how to spend your days - whether it be going on a school trip and getting into a fight there or roam and pick what fights to engage in. Timing is everything and I remember missing a lot of stuff the first time I played.
The concept and the overall presentation was pretty good and it was fun roaming around the open-world and picking a fight with people.

Solid game to have some mindless fun in, but I don't recommend playing it in longer sessions, as the combat system may bore you out even sooner and make you shelve it for a bit.

A great open world to roam around, great customization, and a banger soundtrack, but the combat system is stiff, with limited options to chain combos.

the rom kept crashing but i love to bully virtual kids from other virtual schools

played for the research im doing for my next vid. i liked this game. if it was bigger and more developed, i might even love it. i love the idea of playing through the kyoto trip episode of kyou kara ore wa

Vamos conquistar suzuran.

Really solid beat em up game with lots of little stuff to draw you in, like the limited time each day to find banchos to beat and the nice variety of clothing to cop. I feel like the economy could have been balanced better, and I didn’t realize I could hit triangle on the itinerary screen to see where the banchos I knew about are until literally the last afternoon, but that just makes me want to play it again tbh. My playthrough only took about 8 hours (including progress lost on game overs) so I’m sure I’ll be picking this one back up in the near future.

Charming brawler that feels like the missing link between Kunio-kun and Yakuza. They give you like 5 real life hours per playthrough (it's timed ala Majora's Mask) and literally every thing you can do (mostly beat the shit out of other kids) is fun.

gameplay is lowkey awful but i cant help but love every other aspect of the game
