Nephew was introduced to this game by a kid at camp, then he introduced me to it. Pretty basic overhead view shooter. Has microtransactions that are so hidden that I actually used to think it was totally free. Also has hilariously dark backstories for some of the levels. I get it's commissioned by PETA, but damn is it ridiculous to contrast a story of a whale being kidnapped and forcibly impregnated with the cartoony graphics and gameplay of a cat shooting robot enemies.

Makes for a decent multiplayer game. Played it with my nephew and niece.

i played this shi when i was little without knowing it was a peta game :sob:

I really enjoyed this... Thing?

The Cooking Mama Game has more blood that game is kino

If you told me that PETA was a psyop specifically made to make environmental activists look bad, and you used this game as an example, I would find it very believable.

The odd thing about Kitten Squad is that it’s arguably the least obvious, upfront game PETA has ever made. If it wasn’t for the exploitative and gratuitously long use of a story about an Orca dying in captivity near the start of the game, you’d be forgiven for thinking this was just some aggressively mediocre Binding of Isaac clone with an ugly, cheap-looking art-style.

It arguably makes this game even more baffling that usual, since unlike PETA’s previous attempts at sensationalist video games, Kitten Squad almost disguises itself as something other than what it is, which makes me more than a bit suspicious about what their true motives for this game really were. (Not that they were super trustworthy in the first place, but shrug)

That Orca story, unsurprisingly for PETA, is clearly used, not so much to truly make people sympathize with the plight of mistreated Orcas, but to instead draw attention to the organization itself, seemingly using this genuinely heartbreaking story for pure shock-value. Typical. Disgusting, but unfortunately very typical of them.

Para ser un juego de PETA esta bien(?)

Kitten Squad is a free and fun twin-stick shooter game, easy and accessible.

While it can be hard at first, you will soon understand the best way to defeat each enemy and after several tries, you'll be able to finish every main quest without any struggle.
After some time the game will start to be quite repetitive as this game doesn't have many types of enemies, so after completing several runs, it will become boring and repetitive.

All in all, this game doesn't give you any challenge and after few hours it becomes boring due to repetitive enemies, but well, after all, it's free.

if I publicly disclose how much time I've logged into this game I would be shot dead

I have the artstyle and the story is weird but it's fun to play with friends!

If you look past the fact that this was made by PETA (easier said than done), it's actually not a terrible game, especially for it being free. The art style is... okay, I guess, the story is pretty bad, but the gameplay is decent. There's a good variety of weapons, which are basic but "good enough". I think the main issue is the repetitiveness of the rooms and quests. It wasn't that big of an problem for me since I used this as a sort-of filler multiplayer game, but I can see this being an issue otherwise.

If you don't own the Binding of Issac and are willing to deal with PETA propaganda, this makes an okay multiplayer game.

I can't fucking believe there's a PETA gacha.
