I like the concept of this game ---- I really do. It just goes about executing its idea in a strange way. Its biggest flaw is not offering memorable, traditional boards like past Mario Party titles, something that was definitely & welcomingly corrected with Superstars. Another strike against it though is being on 3DS, where I feel it's simply easier to get several folks to play MP together when it's on console.

Great Minigames And Sidemode Mid Literally Everything Else

Now I understand this is a high rating for a game that most consider not so great but hear me out. I think having played this in a post Superstars time definitely lessened the blow that was the missed potential of this game.

Yes it sucks there is basically no board gameplay in this but what’s here I had fun with and as a die hard Mario Party fan I got a decent amount of enjoyment out of this to make it worth owning. I liked how a few mini games had improvements made to them and the variety in the mini games is really good. Although I do agree I wouldn’t consider a lot of these mini games the top 100 best.

Not a game for everyone but a game that I enjoyed!

i'm actually at a loss for words

it can be decent with friends but its basically a bare bones marioparty mini game collection with no other significant modes. its not great.

The single player mode is a lot of fun. As weird as it sounds, it's actually a great game to play on your own..! Not so much multiplayer however.

I guess it's cool that Mario Party Superstars is more or less an HD port of this, but with actual boards. (And no updates. Damn it.)

“Ah mario party superstar is so fun, I remember the top 100 it was the same game but worst”

How are you gonna make a Mario party game with one board 💀

I've gotta admit, I'm not the HUGEST Mario Party person so this could very well be the worst game ever to those fans, but to me it was alright. A decent collection of portable minigames that was just made to put out a game. People complain because "oh no boards, no online, less playable characters, blah blah" but 1. Boards don't matter that much in handheld mario parties tbh, especially one FOCUSED on the minigames here. Theyre good in some games, like DS and Star Rush but still. 2. You would not have played this online. This was a 2017 3DS game. Shut up. 3. I agree, but Bowser, Bowser Jr., DK, etc. are used in minigames so it's kinda hard to include a lot. Toad randomly is in ONE minigame in the story tho like why isn't he playable? Anyways yeah. Meaningless game but it's whatever. Fine ig.

Carried by the awesome minigames, methinks! That still doesn't justify it though.

My first ever dissapointment

Some pretty odd minigame exclusions for claiming to be the top 100 in the franchise and that isn't even the worst offender because that's all the game has.

Son los 100 mejores minijuegos, y ya, eso es lo bueno.

nintendo developing, marketing, and releasing a mario party minigame compilation only to promptly displace it with superstars not even five years later

rather enjoyable, even if it's not a mario party in the traditional sense. but it got some nice mini games and the "story mode" isn't that bad!

the description having "best" is quotations is hilarious

This was alright for a handheld game, but it really showed that the board game aspect of Mario Party needs good mini-games just as much as the mini-games need a good board game aspect.

I like how even the description for this game on here uses "best" in quotations. Good idea in concept and the presentation and "polish" are up to regular Nintendo quality. The build quality of this game isn't the issue.

The games that this collection has, however, are weak as hell (the "randomly cut the rope" minigame appearing four times) and there's not much to unlock or see, really. Once you beat those games, there's not much left to this game collection. I'm a Mario Party Advance defender, and even I think this game is too weak to stand on its own. As of the time of writing this, this game still costs $50 USD and at no point should this game have been priced any higher than $5 USD.

Eight characters? Are you telling me you had no models laying around for anyone else? No online play, no bringing back previous boards (because it doesn't really play like a Mario Party game), just nothing but 100 of the easiest games to throw onto the Nintendo 3DS in 2017. They might have gotten away with this in the summer of 2011, but releasing such a hollow collection six years into the handheld's lifespan was brazen.

You never realise how much you take the boards for granted until their gone.

It's kinda frustratingly well made because it just amounts to nothing, basically.

why does this exist. i say like i didn’t purchase it immediately because i missed old mario party minigames

this game felt like i was being punked
