The new game of Miles Morales is very fun. Miles plays very different from Peter, as his combat is more based off of his venom powers then his gadgets. I believe that this made the combat better than in the first game. Miles unique swinging animations are great to watch while swinging across the city. This game doesn't have much in length, but I believe it told a good story in the time that it had. However I believe this game lacked in side content and had no icon missions like the first game. But with the inclusion of the new PS5 version of the first game, I believe this is worth it.
So far there are parts that are better than Spider-Man, parts that are worse, and parts that are about the same (so it still feels like the first game, not necessarily over-committing to being a sequel, or a completely different style of game, which is good).
I'll be done with the game in a few more hours of playtime, but it's a non-negotiable zero star game because YOU CAN'T SKIP THE BULLSHIT 40 HOUR LONG CUT SCENES. :(

The Technocratic Spider-Man
here cemented all the writing problems that would go on plague the sequel. I was more forgiving of them originally, given Miles Morales's standing as a halfway-game between numbered entries. I had assumed the full sequel would be back on the right track, with a more rich and interconnected web of side stories—more like the first game! revisiting the whole series now, turns out Marvel's Spider-Man 2 somehow has even less meat on its bones than this launch title reskin raytracing demo. ouch. here's hoping Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is... better?
oh god. they're gonna do the Red Goblin in the sequel, aren't they. man. never mind. it's over.

What I did like:
More of the previous game. Slightly less-engaging story, but Miles is a very likeable protagonist and who doesn't love the new black suits.
The new abilities are great to use and the stealth system is still fun.
What I didn't like:
Even though there were new abilities, the skill tree didn't enhance the gameplay as much as the previous one did.
The story is a lot shorter. You need to play the game twice to get Platinum, so it's almost as if it's throwing that short length in your face.

Having previously played the PS4 release of the previous Spider-Man game and having seen clips of the movement on various platforms, I came into this with high expectations and was definitely not disappointed! Miles Morales gives a very interesting insight into the backstory and further characters only barely introduced in the previous entry. The entire story, while captivating, left some things to wish for, especially in length and content outside of the main story, but mostly made up for it in its interesting premise, the amazingly fluid combat and movement mechanics, and within the tight story beats.

While being shorter than the first game, it tops it in every way except story. While the story is still good, it's too similar of a concept to the previous game to be completely its own.
The gameplay and visuals are better than the first in almost every way. Regarding the visuals specifically, it has probably the best looking sequence I've seen in a video game at the end of the story.
