DNF: Gorgeous art and some cute characters, but so far the core gameplay loop is so boring. I end up just sleeping through days to get to the market, and then still can't buy the items I need to progress. Ingredient collection is too easy and simple to be enjoyable, and most of the characters are shallow beyond simple fetch quests. Haven't been able to find much fun, wouldn't recommend.

So I've been waiting for this game for years, and it was a total disappointment to me… The art is perfect, and it had a lot of potential, but you need gameplay to have a good game. I really dislike the game design of Mineko's Night Market, it is slow, tedious, and repetitive. So sad because I was hyped for a long time and I couldn't even finish it.

+ An idea that could work.

Incredibly tedious gameplay and I despise the boximals but i mean everything else is great

I played it for about an hour and a half and it just wasn't grabbing me, so I'm shelving it for now. I thought the art style was nice but, at the moment, I'm just not in the mood for another crafting game. I also think the game tries way too hard to be funny and cute. Maybe I'll return to it in the future, maybe I won't. We'll see!

A very enjoyable comfy game with a twist. Has a few rough edges, but hopefully they'll be fixed up in the coming weeks.

I played it for a 1 hour podcast ep and totally thought I'd get back to it, but then two weeks went by and I realized that I just don't think this cozy vibe stuff is high on my priority list these days. The game's writing was definitely fun, but I've just heaped too many super long games into my queue is all.

What can I say, but: Cats don't safe a game from being boring. The writing was surprisingly sharp, ironic and funny for that kind of game. Yet it did not safe the game from feeling hollow and superficial. Throwing you into the story of moving to a foreign forest village with your dad, I found it impossible to connect with the other characters. The art-style is handsome and cute and reminded me of the puzzle adventure Carto. But seriously, this is a bummer through and through, that I had to jump off.

there few games that make me feel the way "It Takes Two" did. You can really feel the love the developers put in this gem, an incredible game with a very heartwarming story. It can get repetitive, especially if you're not into japanese culture, but overall i enjoyed every single bit of it

It's not bad per se... but it has a lot of things that could be better.
The minigames and puzzle are easy, has some interesting crafts but it gets annoying that you need to wait until an specific season to get some flowers (or be lucky and get them in the market) otherwise you cannot finish the story...

Enjoyable early and mid game, annoying late game.

This game is super charming with nice-looking art and humorous dialogue, often poking fun at gaming tropes. It does appear to be style over substance though as the basic gameplay loop is to collect materials and make stuff to sell in order to progress the story and unlock new stuff to do. Unfortunately, this gameplay loop can get boring really quickly. I can't say that I was bored with Mineko's when I stopped playing it but I was 100% certain that I would be bored with it and I wasn't enjoying it enough to want to continue playing a game I knew I'd get bored of. This is probably not entirely Mineko's fault because I played another game that had this exact loop fairly recently (Potion Permit and to a lesser extent While the Iron's Hot) and I felt like my time would be better spent on other things.

I was really looking forward to this game, but the state it is in is rather disappointing. I unlocked the 8th? location in mid summer and just had to call it quits with the repetitive tedious gameplay. I think it could be fun after some MAJOR quality of life improvements

Highlights: Beautiful art direction, some of the humor is pretty funny (Bobo’s Mom is her legal name), and I liked some of the small touches like how the main character was automatically full hearts with her dad. I like how there are a lot of cats, you feel measurable progress opening the museums, and the fishing mini game is nice.

Disappointing: The actual gameplay is very repetitive of picking up resources, crafting them, and selling them. A lot of the mini games require quick reflexes that are not that fun and I tried searching for a way to skip them more than once. Each in game day is very long. The only limit is how much energy you have, which you can refill a few times a day but that makes it even longer. Though it’s nice to have no time limit, the current implementation is too long between saves every night. It would be better if the game saved every time you use the bus. Besides getting early game crafting recipes, there doesn’t seem to be any reason to interact with the villagers. Maybe I’m spoiled from other life sim games, but they will only talk about one thing - the next gift they want you to buy/craft. The repetitive use of the agents and cat rescues seem lazy to reuse.

Bugs: clipping, visual glitches, game freezing during dialogue, characters not disappearing when they are meant to.

this was one of my most anticipated games all year and i was disappointed ): it feels like a game made for young children, i really really hate the dialogue. it makes me severely dislike every character in the game. i could understand if the kids were just a little weird but even the adults are annoying as well. one star for the art style, it definitely is stunning! and then half a star bc i do enjoy the concept, i just wish it was executed better </3

! i love this game. giant cat !

A cute game with a lot of bugs and minor flaws (missing quality of life features, strange ordering of certain events, pacing often feels off, etc.). Probably would have benefited from a few months in early access.
