im kinda biased cuz the final boss really pissed me off
the cinematic, matrix style action was really fun, ever since the original flash game. the story was forgettable but that was never the focus.
the final boss has forever stained my feelings about this game. they tried to do the whole dante/vergil "im you but stronger" thing, but the player's ability to effortlessly dodge bullets was stupidly unfun to fight against. if it weren't for that dumb boss, this would've just been a slightly forgettable yet fun action game

After the monster that was BG3 I needed a shorter game and My Friend Pedro delivered on that front. A pretty simple game with tons of action and charm that manages to not grow stale. Do wish some of the later levels didn't have annoying gimmicks and I feel the weapons could've been more interesting but besides that a fun time.

A very OK game, I guess.
A friend described it to me the best: It's a souped up flash game. Derogatory sentiments aside, the mechanics for the most part are fun: The whole point of this game is to feel like a badass, and you most certainly can be a badass. An increasingly deadly arsenal is given to you throughout the game (you get the last weapon like, 4/5ths of the way through), which keeps gameplay fresh enough to not bore you and close the game half way through the story, if you can call it that.
My main gripe is that there is aim assist in this game, and it's extremely helpful. So helpful that it prevents me from properly aiming in certain situations, which leads me to unavoidable damage. As far as I've checked, there's no way to turn it off. It's pretty frustrating, not gonna lie.
This was in my backlog since the game's release, lol. If I felt any hype for this, I might have felt disappointed by this game.

I really wanted to recommend this game but I actually have mixed feelings about this game. This game started out really good with fast paced parkour and shooting but sadly it ended up being tedious at the end with wait and jump at the right time kind of platformer.
Positives:
[+] Satisfying shooting and ragdoll physics
[+] Banana mode is pretty good for those who like challenges (other modes are way too easy)
[+] Gif saving method
[+] Bullet time mechanism and gun on both hands make it feel like 2.5D Max Payne
[+] Balanced recoil system
Negatives:
[-] The soundtrack becomes annoying when it gets repetitive
[-] The game feels unfinished after completing Act 2
[-] The story is cringe
[-] Not much variation of weapons and enemies
[-] Tedious platforming
[-] Repetitive at the end
[-] Gameplay feels clunky
[-] Level design lacks polishing
[-] Could not get used to the controls
[-] Short game with low replayability
Verdict:
Overall, My Friend Pedro is neither a good nor a bad game. The game felt exciting at the beginning and lost all it's appeal after a few hours. So, I can not recommend it.
