im kinda biased cuz the final boss really pissed me off

the cinematic, matrix style action was really fun, ever since the original flash game. the story was forgettable but that was never the focus.

the final boss has forever stained my feelings about this game. they tried to do the whole dante/vergil "im you but stronger" thing, but the player's ability to effortlessly dodge bullets was stupidly unfun to fight against. if it weren't for that dumb boss, this would've just been a slightly forgettable yet fun action game

short and sweet metroidvania with really solid 3d platforming

the platforming/movement felt great, reminded me of mario odyssey in the best way possible. the freeform gameplay of stringing together movement options meshes well with the metroidvania formula of unlocking abilities over time. not much of a story but i loved the atmosphere as well as the retro art style

overall a really strong 6 hour experience. bonus points for hot furry protagonist

THE underrated ds hidden gem

the gameplay is a bit simple and can get repetitive, but its plenty enjoyable as a charming little ds era adventure. good story, gorgeous visuals, memorable soundtrack, lovable characters... its the whole package

solatorobo holds a special place in my heart, as im sure it does for many people who were lucky enough to discover it. do yourself a favor, hack your 3ds and play this game
