An ambitious attempt at a new genre of football gaming for consoles, NFL Head Coach deserved kudos for the attempt despite its glitch riddled existence

A great concept for a game that needed more refinement. As it has been described in the past, NFL Head Coach is basically a sports management sim where you get to actually watch and coach the games. Unfortunately, that part of the game is not fun. Bad in-game camera angles and confusing systems make the player feel more like a spectator than a coach who is in control. Off the field, excessive loading times and confusing UI sour the experience.

If NFL Head Coach had been a yearly franchise, I imagine a lot of these issues would have been ironed out and it could have been a unique franchise. Unfortunately, this is the only one released on this console generation.

From what I recall, far too easy. I think OJ Atogwe had 20+ interceptions for me in my Rams file. I got bored of just watching the games when I could play Madden instead. Lost potential with some of the features between this and the second and final attempt for the game

Have you ever wanted to play Madden without playing Madden? Do you like spreadsheets? Then you'll love NFL Head Coach. Plus, you can make rookies super highly rated very quickly.

Finally, your dreams of living as Tony Dungy can come true.

just madden but you cant play it
