Looking back, this game was definitely just a Pokémon-based minigame collection made to cash in on the popularity of the Wii's motion controls, but the developers put so much effort into the connective tissue between each minigame that as a complete package, PokéPark turned out really charming and memorable. I think the developers realized this too, considering how minor the minigames are in the sequel (even if that disappointed me personally, because I actually really enjoy the minigames in this game).
I still think this game is good.
If it didn’t require me to use the wii remote sideways and 90% of the minigames were mashing, I’d rank this five stars. It’s alarmingly fun to just grind all the attractions with every playable Pokémon, and I liked using all the codes to play as Pikachu in ones he couldn’t do initially and some other legendaries. I also find all the different environments so charming!
Man I don’t know, I guess I like baby games

Honestly amazing game. The nostalgia I felt while playing was accompanied by constant smiles about how wholesome and calming the experience is, yet it does unfortunately have some drawbacks, mainly the repetitive nature of the skill games, the clunky controls and the walking parts in which the game forces you to slowly carry an item across the map. Yet while these aspects might deter some, once you get past them you are welcomed to one of the best and wholesome games the Pokémon Company ever released.
PokéPark is an inoffensive adventure with simple gameplay and controls, but is kept interesting enough by meeting and talking with the various Pokémon around the diverse zones in the park. Gameplay boils down to talking with a Pokémon and playing their respective minigame to befriend them. These games include Chase (tag), Hide-and-Seek, and Battling, among others. As expected for a game targeted at children, the story is simple and the dialogue is even more so, but it brings a charm that befits the experience well. Certainly an enjoyable experience for Pokémon fans.
