with Brock, One True Ending

Playtime: 10 Hours
The DLC expands on the already Good Main Game with a new Area and some very cool designed Bosses.

Bloodborne aesthetic made boring.

Why do they reused old dungeons and why the new areas looks the same as original game? Final boss was cool but really easy and didn't really come close to final boss of the original game.

My run of this DLC on Veteran took me about 8 hours, exploring every dungeon in the One-Shot version. Not bad! The main hub area is fucking massive and interconnected in a really fun way and the added Losomn content is very welcome. The final boss is extremely cool, though a tad too easy for my taste (or my Ritualist/Engineer build was just that broken).

I love the new archetype and weapons, though I do wish there were more weapons to get. There's a LOT of rings, some of which apparently got retroactively added to Yaesha and N'erud, but I only know of about 5 weapons (2 guns, 3 melee, IIRC?). That said, I only did the One-Shot so I didn't reroll to explore variants/alternate choices for loot.

As much as I greatly enjoyed the DLC though, I do have some gripes. The first one is that it being a third take on Losomn (considering the base game already has 2 variants) does end up meaning that it feels a bit "been there, done that". You fight a lot of the same enemy types from base Losomn during this DLC campaign, though I do like the new enemy types for the most part.

And that "for the most part" is my second big gripe: the Forgotten are fucking annoying. Mind you, they released glitched and dealt too much damage, but even then... they feel too fast and too oppressive, fighting a couple of them at once is a pain in the ass. Especially the fucking purple ones. Yet the game treats them as trash mobs, so it chucks them at you in numbers every now and then. They're tougher than the 3 new elite mobs, for fuck's sake!

Anyway, I still really enjoyed my time with this, great add-on. Wonder if the other 2 add-ons will add to Yaesha and N'erud in a similar manner? Though I would prefer to revisit Rhom or Reisum from Remnant 1, or straight up new worlds. It would seem weird to leave out the other worlds I guess, but Remnant 1 did the same with Swamps of Corsus anyway.

Remnant 2: The Awakened King feels solid enough to justify its $10 price tag. It offers some new content, another reason to revisit Losomn, and a great final boss fight. Yet, I can’t help but shake the feeling that more could’ve been done to flesh out the region rather than melding together familiar concepts. It’ll satisfy those who want another reason to jump back in and explore again, but the DLC feels like Gunfire Games is only dipping their toes into a wide sea of potential adventures.

Fairly average time, nothing outstanding here.

A good expansion to a narratively interesting and immersive world from the base game. The new class shores up a missing aspect of builds and the new weapons & items further expands your ability to create fun and exciting builds.

Contains a few cool boss fights but feels rather empty at times.

it's 'more remannat 2 teehee

In a nutshell: Incredibly well designed and large areas, choked by horrendous enemy designs, somewhat disappointing weapon options, and confusing area progression.

Broken down further:
-The re-introduction of the scythe weapon class was exciting to see! ....Only to notice that the moveset is entirely unchanged, and still lackluster. I don't think it's in a good state as being just 'Axe+ (with special parade leader twirling action!)' This also feels slanted in the direction of boss drops. It would've been nice to find some new guns in this gun-focused game, but after 2 playthroughs of the DLC, all's to be found have been gun mods and melee weapons.
-Overtuned to hell and back enemies in select areas (Whoever designed the green explosive enemies most assuredly hates fun. I'm genuinely shocked they don't inflict Corrosive, just to add insult to injury.) Enemies that aren't infuriating to deal with just feel lackluster. The red-coated giant enemy is a good example of what I mean. It's nothing that the player hasn't been faced with before, and it doesn't feel like overcoming anything new or interesting.
-Area progression: multiple times, my friend and I were faced with the problem of 'how do we get over there?'. We never found the answer, either. Not during our entire playthrough, or after. It certainly wasn't for lack of trying. Certain quests that felt incomplete also left me frustrated: having scoured a map top-to-bottom but being unable to find a key to unlock a mystery door hidden at the bottom of the map, for example.

Look... As far as $10 DLCs go, I really can't complain. $10 for 2-3 hours of new gameplay, with added replayability on top of it is a great rate. There are some genuinely great things in this DLC. The voice cast kills it, the areas are some of the biggest and best in the game so far, and the map design is (for the most part) pretty tight and well-done. If you love Remnant 2, please do get this DLC, because I'm sure that you, specifically, will enjoy it; and these developers still do have my support, as I believe they will for a long time still. But based on my personal enjoyment, as of this moment, I can't give it a personal recommendation. I'm going to keep going, and keep trying to see if that is all that there is to see, but for now, it's a thumbs down.
