I wish I could rate this twice so I could rate both the Genesis and SNES versions since they're a bit different.
Like I'd give the Genesis version a 1.5 and the SNES version a 1.

Genesis version : I honestly don't hate it, it just doesn't hold much. It's fun to show a friend to laugh at or play through every few years maybe. Has more fights than the SNES version and offers a bit more of a challenge.

SNES version : It just has less. Like less in general.

google the original version of "let's get it started" by the black eyed peas

Shit roster where the only interesting character in the game is Shaq, the gameplay is straight up horrendous. Complete joke of a game where the only good thing is that Shaq is in it.

i love shaq-fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

The only reason I owned this was because a friend of mine lent me an assortment of SNES games, of which Shaq Fu was apart of, and then he suddenly moved away less than a week later, leaving me with a cursed artifact. I never heard from him again.

At some point during my childhood I did manage to rid myself of this evil, but I'm sure it did inevitably wash up on shore of some far away land, for some other kid to find. And I hope he or she managed to beat the mummy at the end of the game because I sure as fuck never could.

more like crack fu SSSSSNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN i smoke crack oiasjdfoiasfjdeifjdisfj

this and tony hawk pro skater are very important celebrity video games

I'm still wondering how I had this game as a kid.

And I'm still wondering why was this game made.

And I'm also curious on why they made a sequel that was just a bad beat em up. Shaq Fu does nothing but confuses me.

Update: APPARENTLY THERE WAS A SHAQ FU 2 PLANNED BACK IN THE DAY BY THESE SAME DEVS. THIS GAME IS A ENIGMA

still better keyframes than modern netherrealm games

I'm just genuinely curious how this got greenlit for a sequel

Shaq nae nae looking ass dance after every win caused me to descent to a lower Samsara cycle (I lost 50 Budha points).

You know what sucks? The presentation and look of the game is actually pretty good, and the character designs of the non-Shaq fighters are kinda cool with a lot of potential behind them.

Shame it was all for nothing due to being in a game that's basically Flashback Quest For Identity doing its best fighting game impression, resulting in one of the most infamous fighters of all time and a punchline for every FGC joke that doesn't involve Pringles or fight sticks smashed over someones head.

This was a meme game even back in the day.

The music actually owns in this game.
