With the release of Exceed Gear (and specifically Valkyrie cabs), Sound Voltex ended up in probably the best state it's ever been in. The game feels incredible to play at 120Hz, and the song list is absolutely incredible and the new songs we get each update are interesting and fun instead of just being 1238129 touhou remixes. Altogether, I've spent less time with this than Heavenly Haven, but I've liked my time more than I have in the past and I've improved much faster thanks to 120Hz.
Not a huge fan of the ui or how it controls but it's fun from time to time
if this game didnt have high pitched oomfies screeching at you between tracks it would be a 5 star
I played Vivid Wave for a few months before Exceed Gear came out. This game makes you feel like a god. I bought a FauceTwo because I love this game so much. All the exclusive songs are amazing, “I” by Chroma is one of the best rhythm game songs ever, I love the characters so much, Kureha is hot, Near and Noah need to be corrected💢💢💢. I 100% recommend putting time in this game.

it's good but the UI looks like an osu pro skin and the navigators make me feel like i'm playing one of those "YOU WON'T LAST A MILLISECOND 18+" zorn games
I have absolutely zero opinion about the design of this version but it's solid Sound Voltex. Heavenly Haven is still the best design, though.

A classic of rhythm games, despite not being so easy to handle for beginners, you can spend hours on it!
every time i think i'm good at rhythm games i take a quick trip to japan and humble myself by watching some japanese salaryman in a suit and tie absolutely demolish every max difficulty song on the cabinet
Banger rhythm game with a song library full of bangers but I wish the UI of EG was a bit less bland
There is a Valk cab at the local R1, and it's really fun. I can only clear up to level 13's consistently but I feel like a million dollars twisting those knobs anyway.

The push to Exceed Gear (combined with a waning interest) made me drop SDVX and every time I try to pick it up again I try to do anything on knobs and it just doesn't, even when it would work fine in Vivd Wave. At least y'all are having fun.
