Juego 64: Star Wars (1983)

Si quitas la música (que creo que, en un juego de Star Wars, es algo obligatorio), el juego podría ser de cualquier cosa. Creo que lo habría disfrutado bastante más con controles de arcade.

Same exact thing as the Atari console version, just a little bit better. There's basically no way to play this now though, so that's kinda a bummer. I got nothing else to say lol. You're only able to play the Atari console version through emulators these days.

(See all my Star Wars Rankings and reviews on my profile, the list is titled "Star Wars Ranked.")

I played this as an unlockable game in Rogue Squadron III and loved it. I can only imagine this blew people's minds back when it came out and the whole arcade setup looks awesome. Fun on rails shooter with pretty vector graphics and a sense of speed that holds up pretty well today, and must have been amazing when it was released.

After years of (unlicensed) attempts at re-creating the trench run, this is the first game to do it properly. The music, sound effects, sense of speed, vector graphics, and approach towards the Death Star are all done really well, and then loop back to the start in a very natural way.

Had a fun time playing this. I was trying to place myself into the shoes of someone playing this for the first time when it came out. I'm imagining being a kid and watching Star Wars and just eagerly waiting for an official Star Wars video game after spending so much time playing all the imitation games trying to capitalize on the success of the movie, but without the actual license. While I was playing the DOS version, I would love to get a chance to play the arcade version some day. Being able to sit down in the cabinet would be the perfect time machine for the 80's. The DOS version was still fun, but I imagine the arcade version being equivalent to a thrill ride.

played at a video game museum. Probably my favorite arcade game

This is a blast to play and a must if your at an arcade. It has amazing visuals for a game that came out in 1983 which makes it all the more fascinating. It’s quick and simple, ahead of its time, and worth a few quarters.
