"Bahamut 's just this cool guy, yanno?" - Enjoyed the idea of playing servitude to a great god-like creature, with one-eye affixed on a greater goal. But, the premise like the DLC ultimately felt barebones and tacked on. And, despite my massive enjoyment of the main game- I didn't feel compelled to continue into the next DLC chapter.

Hellish re-encounters with old bosses at boosted levels more grinding for gear than actual new content. Bahamut is cool but is mostly absent (literally one cutscene split into pieces that you have to grind a currency to unlock)

Team Ninja are experts at picking the worst elements of their games to make entire DLC's around.

Conceptually, this DLC feels like a fucking scam. It has a grand total of 2 new bosses, 2 new jobs (which I didn't use at all get fucked), no new stages (I'm not gonna count Bahamut's arena as a stage), no new mobs. The bulk of the content is replaying the shit you already played, but with modifiers and a higher difficulty. Compare that to Nioh's DLCs and I just assume Square-Enix gave Team Ninja a budget of 2 peanuts for this thing.

Other than that, there's like 8 side missions that are just reused locations and enemies with some change ups, such as throwing stupid adds at you while you deal with a boss.

Sure, bosses get modified AI and some new tricks, but they're still mostly the same bosses with higher numbers. And sure, you don't actually need to replay through all missions, you only need to get enough of a new currency through replaying missions. It's still lame tho.

But damn if I didn't have fun with it. The change in difficulty alone makes the game better because gear and builds actually fucking matter for once after not mattering at all during the main game (I'm counting Chaos difficulty as main game too). Picking and choosing gear to give me the job affinity bonuses that worked for my playstyle is fun and seeing Jack shred through shit when my build is ready is so damn satisfying.

Though then... I still think Team Ninja are lame as fuck for making the entirety of their games' loot mechanics trivial until you hit the higher difficulties which are basically NG+. Needing a paid DLC to actually make the mechanics in the base game matter is even more of a joke. At least Nioh had some endgame in the game itself and not only in DLC.

Probably shouldn't complain that much about the practice when I yarr arr'd it since Epic refuses to sell me games on their storefront anyway, but whatever lol. Plus I did say I had lots of fun seeing SOP's gameplay actually come together, and that's why the score is ultimately so high even though this review reads like I think it's a 1/5.

VERY very grindy DLC but the boss fight is just too cool. (yes, i cheesed him)

Dude this was fucking hard lmfao

Great story stuff and I got the 1 boss I wanted the most an all out fight with the WoL. But these trial debuff things are awful lmfao I managed to get it all done tho.

Really love that boss fight and I have no clue what they will do next honestly

It was almost short, but mainly it was fun, the new boss fights and the new classes were a lot of fun

I hated this so much. All it does is add a new difficulty that I despised as well as two bosses that I was only able to beat because of Extra Mode. That's it. There aren't any new or interesting locations. Don't play it unless you're a masochist.

Insane cope in the reviews. GET BETTER!!!!

WAY TOO GRINDY TO BE FUN. Absolutely brutal to play through, and the story can only progress by grinding the same missions as base game (plus some additional new dlc ones). While the story content itself is actually enjoyable, it's heavily brought down by the insane difficulty spike and tediousness.

The actual new content (2 boss fights and 1 job) are cool, everything else about this dlc sucks fucking mega dick. The rest of the "content" is for absolute masochists and insane people. Probably the biggest dip in enjoyment I've had from base game to dlc since doom eternal

-_-

Ngl the Bahamut fight itself is cool but the grind is horrible, the DLC didnt even add a new stage. It's just grinding the main game missions again until you're strong enough to take him on. It feels like the devs just didnt get any budget to make this

Tenía pendiente este primer DLC de Stranger of Paradise.

Añade cosas chulas a la campaña, que no he podido probar dicho sea de paso. El DLC como tal no está mal, unas 10 horitas de juego.

I'm a sicko who absolutely loves the core combat of SoP, and even grinded a bunch of the end game stuff which was essentially just playing the base game missions but harder. I dropped this DLC after only a couple of hours because I realized that it expects me to grind even harder versions of the mission I've already played a bunch of time to get better gear to fight 2 new bosses. It's cool that there's a new difficulty tier here, but the fact that the new content is only available on the absolute hardest difficulty, and this is even more centered around the loot grind is just poison to me.

The new job and weapon is cool tho, really wish I could play some new levels using it lmao

base game is already horribly designed despite one (1) cool character and some interesting enemy designs. then they made a DLC where they go all in on game play which is the worst part of the game. team ninja is a plague.
