I haven't played KH yet so Sora didn't do anything for me personally but it's so fitting he's here and just seeing the reactions was a sight to see. Just like Steve, you HAD to be there.

i think one of my worst moments was looking at the part in the trailer when mario picks up the flaming keyblade and deadass going "FIRE MARIO?!??!?!?!"
i feel like another factor that played into sora's inclusion was compensation for KH3
good final fighter; kind of a catch 22: allowing disney representation in would have made the character less bland and more representative of his game, but would have been odd in a video game fighter

Way too late for this character. Kingdom hearts hasn't been relevant in over a decade. The character also plays lame and is corny as hell

When I saw the reveal trailer for Sora my mind was absolutely blown away. I am a huge Kingdom Hearts fan and have wanted to see Sora in Smash just as long as I had wanted Banjo-Kazooie in Smash, but with Disney having part of the rights to Sora I always excused it as an impossible dream. They also went above and beyond and added other costumes of Sora's outfits from other games. Hollow Bastion is a really cool stage that almost can function as 2 stages as it transitions into Dive into the Heart. Moveset-wise, Sora's moves are almost perfect. The counter should have been replaced with one of Sora's more iconic moves like Ars Arcanium or Strike Raid. Music is extremely limited which is my biggest gripe with the DLC, but considering its a miracle Sora is in this game to begin with, it can be excused. Not the best with him, but whenever I win games with both him & Banjo it feels good. Just being able to see them crossover with Mario and countless other iconic video game characters makes me very happy as I am a massive fan of both of their franchises and am shocked to see them.
if sora wasn't one of the most insufferable jrpg protagonists in history i'd probably be happier about this? 2 absolute bangers of square enix fighters and then just. sora. i guess the best thing about him in smash is that it highlights that his design is a lot better with his hair and proportions from kingdom hearts 1 and the outfits from 2/3. very impressive that they managed to get him into smash too.

Sora is an absolutely incredible final character and a fantastic sendoff to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. For a franchise that has a pretty abysmal track record for finales, it's nice to see them hit an absolute home run with a pipe dream inclusion for so many that people said would never ever happen. Unfortunately I am people and I'm a little bitter it was the character I asserted had no chance at fighter 11 during the weeks leading up to the reveal and not Tabuu they had no reason to put trophies in the trailer after replacing them if they weren't gonna bring back the guy who turned characters into trophies.

My friend group always joked about how they would never add this goofy ass character. Well, they did it. For that reason, it's funny
Este personaje me encantó, es muy bueno, no es tan poderoso ni rápido, pero lo compensa dando multi ataques, su gran recuperación, su magia y sus atuendos, además de incluir un escenario agradable, lo malo es su smash final y algunas cosas que por cuestiones de Disney, no se pudo meter material de este último al juego.

i would totally rate 5 if i was a kingdom hearts stan but sora's not really all that. he's got a decent moveset but it doesn't interest me enough. at the very least he had a surprising character reveal and proved everyone's doubts wrong. im happy for the KH fans that never gave up hope for sora in ssbu despite literally everyone (me included) mocking them

When Sora was announced, I mentally checked out. Just another in a long line of unexciting anime sword-wielder DLCs. This reveal came at a time when I was at the end of my rope with Smash Ultimate; playing online and seeing the GSP I made in 5 wins disappear after 1 loss made me miserable. The schizophrenic difficulty of World Of Light frustrated me to hell. I muted Smash on Twitter 'cos character speculation and post-reveal discussion was like people backing their favourite sports team with extreme sycophancy vs. equally extreme vitriol.
Sora, the most mid DLC character conceivable, finally shined the light on my darkness heart. I could finally free myself from the ties that bind, and accept that Smash isn't a series worth caring about. Thank you Sora, for being so mid it hurts.

well it was bound to happen but to be honest I can't help but feel underwhelmed. don't get me wrong I don't hate his inclusion and I'm happy that Kingdom Hearts fans finally got their wish. I also think Kingdom Hearts is a neat and fun concept and I find myself listening to some of the franchise's tracks on rare occasions. that said one of the only two things that I'm disappointed with is how few tracks we got. the ones we got were fine but we really could have used more. not gonna lie I kinda got a sour taste in my mouth when I didn't see Rage Awakened or Fate of the Unknown on the track list. everything else is okay I guess, his stage looks cool, his gameplay style is neat, and the Timeless alt slaps harder than it should, so yeah I guess Smash ended off on an alright note.
that said the second thing I'm disappointed with is that we didn't get Donald Duck instead, I wanted to kill my opponents with Zettaflare we were robbed
