I wasn't ever scared playing this game but there were a lot of moments where I went “Thats pretty cool!”

A lot of that is in the presentation. I grew up on the GBA, so not only am I familiar with sprites made big to make up for small screen space, it’s an aesthetic I remember my fondly. Bunny Graveyard captures that look and charm to a t. The game however boasts cutscenes with incredibly sharp compositions and directing that i don’t think any GBA game could pull off. A nice modern touch.

What also reminds me of the GBA is tha you only have two buttons and a d-pad at your disposal. This is a simple mechanics game that tests your ability to hit Z with various mini games. And the various mini games they do with them are fun! Boxing was definitely the highlight with the fishing mini-game a close second. The final round of the fishing mini-game was probably the most tense I got during my playthrough.

Cause like I said, I was more impressed by the sleek spritework and craft even during the scary bits. The jumpscares I ran into during the final act, when it goes into more modern horror game territory with stealth sections that reward failure with jump scares, the jumpscares left me more impressed and loving the effort put into them rather than any sense of being rattled by the well crafted monster that caught me.

And that can be a big issue with this game for a lot people. I never thought it was that scary, but I don’t think it’s out of any attempt to appeal to the growing mascot horror audiences. I also fear with this game being assigned this genre by some that many will assume this game has the usual worst tropes of that genre, (i.e. cheap, uninspired, just begging for lets players to lose their shit at it for videos upon videos)

Cause I think The Bunny Graveyard is anything but that. I didn’t leave game thinking “That was such a scary take on a haunted GBA game” but rather “Man wouldn’t it be cool if there were horror games on the GBA?”

And if there are any worth noting, do tell! I was five when I had my GBA, no way my parents would let me have any (if they exist).

Fucked up! Bunnies should munch on carrots and get pet on head nicely, not go to graveyards!

i literally do not understand or agree w people claiming this is mascot horror or youtube bait or etc. that is simply not true. there are no mascots. there is no youtube bait. not every episodic horror game is a mascot horror youtube bait .

regardless. this is SO FUCKING COOL. the art style and animations are so fun and cool, the characters are really charming and boxers is my child i love them :') the soundtrack ROCKS its so sick and the gameplay is so fun!! the variety of minigames and the exploration aspect is really great and im a sucker for fourth-wall meta breaking concepts. im genuinely in love with this from first episode alone and theres huge potential here for it to be an incredibly unique indie horror. getting undertale, everhood, and also daniel mullins inspired vibes from this which is everything i love so im really excited for more of this

(CHAPTER 1 REVIEW)

Banger indie horror game that is ACTUALLY really good! I found out about this game from the trailer being recommended to me on YouTube and I wanted a spooky game to play for October that isn't mascot horror. Very excited for Chapter 2 which I don't think is coming out anytime soon but it's okay :,) Also, as an animation enthusiast the pixel art animation in this game is VERY impressive and is reminiscent of an industry expert. If Pichon has not worked for any animation companies and is entirely self-taught that is highly impressive to me. New inspiration unlocked

(PS Boxers is now legally my son he doesn't deserve a "mom" like that)

Finished the first episode and am intrigued to see how the story unfolds. Love the games presentation, from its music to creepy, foreboding atmosphere to how awesome the sprite art looks. Have very high hopes for what's to come if the first episode starts off this strong

joguei com meus amigos, foi um momento incrivelmente engraçado, com certeza irei comprar o segundo capitulo quando lançar

poverissimo come punta e clicca, noioso come horror. Bello per i design

Pretty interesting mascot horror with some interesting elements, loses a star for now due to not being completed fully. Waiting for all episodes to come out to give a more concrete review on this.

Chapter 1

In terms of baby horror youtuber bait there is a genuinely quality in the pixel art and a unique enough premise that it lets it stand head over heals above the Banban's and Poppy's of the world. There is some gnarly imagery here with the pixel art monsters even if none of it is ever scary. The big issue though is that the game isn't fun to play. Its mostly just a series of very easy mini games punctuated by very janky stealth sections. I'll be interested in seeing how the follow ups improve the gameplay at all.

This game is wonderful and an adorable little cute game. I did feel like I was too old for it though, which I haven't ever felt from a game before, but it's designed to feel super blissful and naive at the start so that's probably why, but some of the stuff needs to be dialed up to be a liiittle harder maybe. It really is good though and I'd recommend it (And it deserves to be Overwhelmingly Positive!!!).

Not having screenshots is a serious travesty though, the game has so much love poured into the art and you can't screenshot it. :c
