A hypnotic and adrenaline-inducing nightmare that had my hands sweating the entire time. Self-described as a "rhythm violence" video game, it earns that title with every earth-shattering combo and terrifying eldritch entity you face.

The game does a great job of introducing its simple control scheme, its straightforward (but deceptively flexible) mechanics, and its terrifying tone all at a steady pace so not as to overwhelm you at first. However, it isn't afraid to let loose in its later levels once your confidence builds up.

Had a lot of fun S-Ranking each level, can't wait to see what the developers decide to do next.

Strapped my grandma into the vr version of this game once and she hasn’t been the same since.

WAKE UP, THIS METAL BEETLE IS CRACKED AT TONY HAWK

(from original post) i wish i was actually good enough to beat this cause its so fucking cool

No lo jugué en VR, pero asumo que así debe ser increible.

Can’t believe how tense this made me. And how I much I kept coming back.

A wonderful rhythm game. It's a liiiitle bit overhyped in terms of -what- it is, but it is mesmerizing, challenging if you get obsessed with getting S-rank, and visually sleek and impressive. The music is also great, with the in-game sound effects. I was pretty disappointed to find it's more minimal without the various clangs and swooshes of the space bug.

Seems like a really good and fun experience if this is your sort of thing, but after finishing the first series of levels I wasn't really connecting with it so put it aside.

This game is not meant for every rhythm player, it really spikes up after some levels but is so worth to experience till the end, My eyes hurt

one of the more imaginative games i've ever played, and one of my favorite rhythm games ever. the skill ceiling here is sky high

Through aggression, terror, and even some frustration, the pulse of Thumper is everlasting.

claustrophobic and demanding

I'm pretty sure this put me in a trance multiple times as I was playing it. Can't say any other game has done that to me.

You don’t need a plot or complex gameplay to have one of the greatest video game endings of all time. 9-27 and Infinity left me absolutely speechless.

Fun for a while in VR, but not what I was after. And also might have gotten a little motion sick...

Its a fun rhythm game I don't really get the horror aspect of it, as I never felt even tense the whole game besides trying to keep a combo going. The levels were fun and the music is good it is pretty short though, its worth playing for sure its just the horror aspects are a little underwhelming.

This game is a drummer's psychedelic dream.
Play it now!

Near the last stages it became too hard for my ear for rythm and/or ear-to-thumb bandwidth. Gee, thanks for showing me my physical limitations, Thumper.

Playing it in VR is the definitive flow experience. Brilliant idea, excellently realized.

Finally got around to playing this challenging and hyperactive music violence game. While the rhythmic element might not be as apparent as other rhythm games, the industrial and intense soundscapes evolve into complete cacophony as each stage progresses. In VR, Thumper is unlike anything I’ve ever played. The visual activity is insane and completely enrapturing. If you haven’t seen this game in action, especially in VR, Thumper is unreal and lives up to the genre of “rhythm violence” that it created.
