Really limited version of its sequel, but still good for some fun.

more like Tomodachi Lite, amirite??

not really any reason to go back and play this over the 3DS one, but i do think it has a good amount of it's own charm that makes it worth checking out at the very least!

é legalzinho engraçadinho no início mas fica repetitivo relativamente rápido

Coming to this after tomodachi life is weird it’s very limited but at the end of the day a limited tomodachi life is still a great time I personally like the music a little more than tomodachi life and it’s really cool seeing miis on the ds

this game made me cry when i was 10 because my miis broke up with each other

Unless you don't have a way to play 3DS games, or for some reason you don't already have the sequel, there's not much of a reason to be playing this game because Tomodachi Life improves on Collection in nearly every aspect. If you're playing the (unfinished) fan translation, you might get a somewhat fun experience with this game, but that's only if you can tolerate the grating TTS voice spelling out English letters and also knowing a little bit of Japanese.

I mean, it's neat to play, but it's also invalidated my the existence of Life

"the best" - my gf

fan translations come thru yet again

This game is crackin, weirdly feels similar to Nintendogs but I think it was developed internally by Nintendo as well at the time which makes sense. Packs a fair bit of content, but I think it really could've used more locations on the island and things to do with the Miis. Aside from the gender issues which still hasn't been fixed in sequels, it's a lovely title that's thoroughly relaxing, charming and funny still. Can't recommend enough.

admittedly, I'm writing this review looking back on Tomodachi Collection - if I got this game before Life, I would likely have a very different opinion. that being said... the game is quite limited and a bit frustrating to really play after a while. there's just not too much of interest here outside of the novelty of playing with Miis on your DS Lite. I wouldn't really bother with this if you have access to Tomodachi Life on 3DS

the soundtrack to this is really good you’d never expect it. maybe it’s just my nostalgia for the DS sound font but whatever I don’t care it slaps. as a whole this feels more like a proof of concept for it’s sequel than a full experience

tomodachi life is better but this game's OST slaps

ost better than tomodachi life

My fictional crush fell in love with someone who isnt me

I got the English translation and it's fun for a bit, I do find it funny that I can place Mr Beast in a Nursery room and Andrew Tate in prison. And seeing Ice Spice playing the Wii and calling me the n-word, Mr Beast and Ice Spice having a baby was funny too. But the game gets a bit boring and there is a sequel (Tomodachi Life) that's fully in English and has more content + better graphics.

its pretty good but sort of limited. has better animation than its 3ds counterpart though

Not sure why I like this one so much, maybe the primitive graphics on the ds invoke something in me

I really wanted to finish this, but at some point it grew too frustrating to come back each day only to check whether or not one of my couples married. This game is just inferior to its sequel Tomodachi Life in every way possible anyway.

i think it's really interesting that this has its own built-in mii maker, presumably one of the only examples of miis on the ds. i mostly just played this because i couldn't emulate a 3ds on my shitty laptop, so i threw a translation patch at this and gave it a go. it's cool but barebones, and it barely counts as a proper 'game'. it's more of just an experience that you watch and laugh at sometimes, and that's fine. the 3ds sequel is straight-up just better though, so don't bother with this except as a historical/novel thing.
