Total Carnage is a chaotic, over-the-top blast from the past. This SNES port ramps up the mayhem of the arcade original, tossing you into a war zone filled with ridiculous power-ups and tons of enemies. It's mindless fun, but controls can be janky and the repetitive nature can wear thin after a while. Still, if you're craving a nostalgic arcade-style shooter with a healthy dose of absurdity, Total Carnage will satisfy that urge.

Absurd amounts of creativity on display and delightfully gratuitous violence but also this game was meant to take your money. If I played this shit on a cabinet I'd have spent like $30 finishing it and it's like an hour long. That being said I still like it more than SmashTV. SmashTV is probably the better game but I like the variety this one offers over the arena style gameplay.

It’s fun playing through on an arcade collection where you can just keep continuing, but this thing would have been obnoxious to pump quarters in because of how fast you can die on some sections

I appreciate it for how much is on screen and there is fun in the chaos, but I do think the difficulty is a bit much

"Set in the fictional country of Kookistan during 1999, players assume the role of Captain Carnage and Major Mayhem from the Doomsday Squad in a last-ditch effort to overthrow dictator General Akhboob and his army of mutants from conquering the world, while also rescuing POWs held by his military force."

Ok buddy

Maybe it's just cause I played it more as a kid but I prefer this over Smash TV
