confesso q achei um pouco cansado em relação ao 0 que é a maior pedrada da história
ainda assim é um jogo >MUITO< bom

Majima Everywhere is the greatest subplot in all of the games.

Despite being very clearly flawed in certain parts which knock it some points, I absolutely loved this game.

So incredibly thematically rich and (mostly) amazing character work. Kiryu was handled extremely well except for one instance but the real star was Akira Nishikiyama.... what a character.

As for gameplay it's only slightly lesser than Y0 fundamentally but there's a few bosses that are unquestionably awfully designed and really unfun.
The Majima everywhere system is my favourite thing ever

Unwanted parenthood turns all your friends against you apparently

Bon jeu mais ça reste un remake low budget

good remake but they ruined some of the ost and majima everywhere is annoying as shit also the bosses can kiss my ass

Why is this series so stupidly funny yet depressing

Really happy this was actually pretty good, came out of 0 hearing very mixed things about the next chunk of the series so this forebodes well. Definitely not nearly as strong a game story or character wise but still showed flashes of something brilliant here and there. Kiryu and Nishiki's dynamic was easily the highlight of this game and coming from Zero made it so much better. One of my complaints about this game is that it wasn't more focused on them, some of the other characters felt very weak and cliche.

You can definitely tell this is the first story the series told, and they were still getting warmed up in making every element in the game sit together well, especially with how Majima was utilized. He was my favorite character in Zero and it felt like he just kinda got placed here for no reason. Despite my issues, it still feels like it would have been a strong start if I had gone this route instead. Definitely way more excited for what's coming next after playing this.

Is it as good as Yakuza 0? No, because we don't get Majima as a character, and thus the world feels smaller, combat less varied, etc. The comparison is unfair, because 0 is built from the ground up for modern generation consoles while Kiwami is the remake of a PS2 era game. Still, that was my baseline for a game and Kiwami did, in theory, come later, so...
I did find the Majima part kinda tiresome after he became very tanky and the events near a few places I used to go become too frequent.
Overall, very fun, long live this series

This is a great Kiryu adventure with some rad boss fights and I'm big into Pocket Circuit and I don't even find little girl Haruka anywhere as annoying as most people.

Story 4.3 | Gameplay 4.5 | Audio 3.5 | Visual 5 | Details 4 | Entertainment 5 | Open World 4.8

Total 4.4

I loved the story and the new characters in general, but speaking of gameplay, it's the same as Yakuza 0, which isn't bad, but it could be different.
Majima Everywhere is an interesting mechanic to improve the player's fighting skills, but from rank A onwards it becomes extremely annoying for Majima to appear all the time and you need to waste minutes to defeat him, it's not hard, just boring

STILL FUCKS!!! GAME GOES HARD!!!

Yakuza Kiwami faces a unique challenge in that it tries to be a faithful remake of the series' first game from a decade ago while not contradicting the new characterizations given to some major characters like Majima and Nishiki in the very well received prequel preceding this release. In Nishiki's case this gap is bridged pretty successfully with the additional cutscenes detailing what he has been up to during Kiryu's time in prison. Though some of the dialogue that makes it sound like jealousy over Yumi was a core reason for Kiryu and Nishiki's falling out does feel a little weird given that these new cutscenes paint a new picture of mistreatment in the Tojo Clan and the loss of his sister as the major reasons behind Nishiki's downfall, alongside Yakuza 0 previously building up their brotherhood as something almost too strong to crumble over a woman. With Majima things don't play out as smoothly since at this point RGG Studio has to connect three different personas that they've created for this character over time, so you kinda get whiplash between Majima in the main story and Majima in side content. The Majima Everywhere system honestly loses comedic value after the first few encounters, and the skill learning system could generally be balanced a lot better. Personally I don't mind that the combat system is recycled from Yakuza 0; it works and it's fun to play. Kiryu being rusty after a decade in prison and having to relearn the Dragon style seems cool from a lore standpoint but doesn't go over too well in practice. On my second playthrough I rushed through the main story on a brand new save without engaging in any side content and ended up very underpowered by the finale. Especially the boss fight with Jingu sucks and is easily one of the worst in the entire series. Overall I think it's a solid game and remake, and I'm glad it exists to breathe new life into a very important entry in the series. It's not perfect but it will always have a special place in my heart for being one of the two original games to feature Nishiki.

Gameplay is an improvement from 0 but goddamn whoever thought the majima everywhere system was a good idea AND having it tie to your dragon style progression needs to be slapped and fired from the company.

The worst thing about this is that Sega and RGG just act like this is the definitive way to experience the first game in the franchise which is simply not true.

Couple that with lack of details from the original and being a yakuza 0 asset flip and you have yourself one of the laziest remakes i've ever played.

Just localize the HD collection and put it on new consoles and don't act like it doesn't exist, SEGA.

This games pretty underwhelming after kiwami but I think that has to do with it being 1 to 1 (besides the added nishiki alone cutscenes) with a ps2 action game that was made with the expectation that it would be a one off (funny enough the next couple of games would be written to feel like they would be the last yakuza game since they weren't sure if another one would get approved) Also man a lot of these electronic remixes of the original music kind of land flat in my opinion I do not like them as much as I liked the orginal PS2 tracks. But its still a really solid fun experience and I don't really think it overstays its welcome. Oh also I don't think this serves as a good replacement for Yakuza 1 since a lot of that games ambience and music that fit the games tone is lost in kiwami.

Fantastic but playing it after playing 0 made it look kinda worse in comparison.

Weird one to rank, but it's just a great freaking entry in the series. Not a lot of complaints about it.

this was my first yakuza game related experience, and while i enjoyed it very much, looking back it feels rather bland and just a copy paste into the 0 engine
although i must say that i am a big fan of the night-time ambience in the game, which also includes the "free-roaming" soundtrack (mostly during the story playthrough)

I enjoyed everything about this game, but the dogshit boss fights hold it back for me significantly.

Still good, but is hurt a bit by the quality of Yakuza 0.

to think that a PS2 game had an actual mechanics , open world and story like this back in 2005 is actually insane .

It's a solid remake. has the best villain in the series. mostly retains Y0's combat. The "Majima everywhere" mechanic very quickly wears out it's welcome. music is good but not as good as the original (imo). Lacking Nishki's famous line.

Majima si traveste da donna.
