This was technically the first Modern Warfare game I played and one of the first COD games I've played. Just as good as the first two with the addition of a decent multiplayer and survival mode that I would usually play more than Multiplayer.
Embarrassing truth: I first played this on the Wii with the zapper gun before the 360 version, very ashamed that was how I first got into Call of Duty.

Even though the multiplayer is still fun, the rest of the modes aren't. The campaign was losing the moments, that were in the previous installments. The graphics are even worse than in Modern Warfare 2, mostly due to the grey and brown colors of the maps. Survival, while a great addition, didn't live up to the expectations. The multiplayer is just MW2, if it had more DLC, and boom! Here's MW3.
I love this game. Some of the best maps, best weapons, Quick Scoping was great, specialist was introduced, Support package was awesome, I think KC was added for the first time in this game, and spec ops was amazing too. I have a few complaints that keep this from being a perfect game though: campaign was decent, but nothing special. The balancing in the first few months were pretty bad, type 95 and FMG9 plagued the game for a while and even after the nerfs, I still think they were a bit cheesy. Deathstreaks are stupid and had no business being in this game.
It's still love, this will probably always be the peak CoD game for me.

The end of a dynasty. This is all pre-emptive to my replay of BOII but from my memory of the series after this entry, it's all downhill. Just like the past couple entries I'm going to refrain from an essay of compliments that everyone has heard a thousand times before and just say: this is how you end a trilogy. This is how you wrap up every storyline perfectly while leaving yourself open to a million possible storylines as a sequel. While I haven't played the new MW or any of the entries following this one, I honestly can't think of a better conclusion to any storyline in any piece of media available.
