Everyone loves the idea of Pokemon Colosseum, and it does a pretty solid job of living up to that idea. There are little touches that I wish were present though. Human animations in particular are weird and just feel... off. It also just feels like the game devolves into an endless parade of trainer battles very early on and stays that way.

A unique single player campaign, shadow Pokemon, double battles and a wide variety of Pokemon from both Johto and Hoenn. Definitely one of the best Pokemon video games ever made.

part of me acknowledges that this got better retroactively because of the stagnation of the pokemon series, but it's also genuinely a really neat concept. you steal pokemon. you catch pokemon that you can't normally catch (starters, metagross, etc.). you play as someone who's given an explicit backstory and is implied to be morally ambiguous. most important, you have an extremely limited pool of pokemon to pick from. it's a similar idea as "art through adversity". you will look at pokemon like slugma and stantler differently than you would in any other game because they'll actually look usable. again, none of this is perfect by any means, but it was a really creative take on the pokemon formula that wasn't just trying to subvert tradition for the sake of advertising (i.e. "no gyms!!!!!" in pokemon sm). there was an original idea here, and regardless of how you think it's executed, you really can't deny that it's unlike any other pokemon game, for the better, i'd argue.

really cool concept, unfortunately its just an ok game. mirror b is a chad tho

Such a cool game with a great concept and huge story potential. Unfortunately, it falls flat becoming just an alright experience. It's full of double battles which made this game very fun. The strategies you can pull are satisfying; shoutouts to the final boss for being challenging.

This is way shorter compared to Gale of Darkness. But still is a great side game.

Played as a kid, got it and completed a year ago. Stunning work on the animations in his moment, some of them are really fun to experience. A bit annoying to complete but we really need some different games like this in the franchise.

Wonderful and charming game. Good story and great music. Genius Sonority at their peak

Very innovative and refreshing take on the Pokemon world, the region has a strong grungy aesthetic and all double battles are really cool, but unfortunately the story falls extremely short of expectations and gameplay becomes grindy to a fault.

Would love a remake/continuation of this series in some form

way better than the other Pokemon Stadium-esque games. The story mode is really great.

ludicolo dance and stealing pokemon is good

What the monkey's paw gave all the kids who wished the story in pokemon games were more "edgy". Broadly enjoyable but vaguely lifeless.

Gem of a game, so disappointing it only got one sequel and didn't just take the whole series in this direction

An interesting way of trying to make a single player console Pokemon game. Sadly I don't remember getting much into it, and all I remember is it RSE era mechanics.

It's a good game and it's cool that Nintendo tried to make a Pokémon game that was really different. For the main story it's just double battles the whole time, which is a cool thing and makes fights strategic. But the game most definitely has a low-budget feel to it, which is odd.

I played this for so long one weekend that my parents thought there might be something wrong with me

Great concept and execution, but it makes me wish there were way more Pokemon main series-gameplay side games like it... cmooooon give us mooooooore

A great first attempt at a 3D Pokemon RPG. The snag mechanic was fun and nothing but double battles introduced an exciting new factor to the game, but the real draw was being able to catch Johto Pokemon during a time when there was no other way to do so in Gen 3.

More like pokemon grind-osseum XDXDXD, also played on dolphin cause I ain't paying $80 for this which will also likely fund some heroin addict who found this game in there garage re-release more gamecube games nintendo you cowards.

this game isnt good and if you say it is you are probably blinded by nostalgia / a kid on the internet who goes along with whatever you consider to be an "unpopular opinion"

It's a flawed game but I found it more memorable than Ruby & Sapphire at the time. The music is wonderful and the style of characters, while being a weird departure from the mainline games, gave it a unique charm.

Small roster of Shadow Pokemon makes this one kinda sketch.

Beat this game with a gligar because you and I are not the same

got paid 30 bucks to play through this with a remoraid and i loved every minute of it

Had a lot of fun with this as a kid. A fun deviation from the normal Pokemon formula!

Sapphire and Emerald were my first taste of Pokemon, Colosseum got kept me coming back for more.

I do not remember this game sucking so much as a kid... but I also never got past Pyrite Town back then. This game blows, it's unfun to play and feels more like a slog than any entry in the series. At least the animations are better than the main series, and I could never talk down about Mirror B.

If this doesn't get a revival like Snap did, I swear.

Double battles are my favorite type of battles thanks to Colosseum. I love the limited amount of potential Pokemon that's done tactfully, you can really make your own stories in this game, I love the postgame content. It's extremely hard to come by these days, which should be considered a crime. What crime, I don't know, but it violates a humane law somehow.
