This game's structure really hurts the overall experience; it is almost entirely devoid of competitive or action-focused gameplay, being all based around puzzles that lack any replay value. These issues only become more apparent when the game asks you to replay levels over and over for materials; it is the inferior to four swords adventure.
Think of a really good zelda game. Think about why you love it so much and what makes it so good. Good? Yeah now this is the opposite of that. If you aren't playing with 2 or more players, don't even bother. The stacking thing is a cool idea, but when in single player you have to keep switching between them and stacking in different orders, and you can avoid taking damage by switching to another link right before taking the damage, which shouldn't be possible. The gameplay is basic zelda stuff, nothing too special, and everything new they tried, seemed to just backfire in my opinion. The only reason you should get it is for multiplayer, and that's not even very good. Go play a different game
i mean its fun
but it has the same problem as 4 swords where you need multiple people
and if one of those people cant play then you wouldnt want to play more without them so they dont fall behind
and if you dont play for long enough you forget about it and find some other game to play
preferably a game that anyone can play at anytime

Sadly, Nintendo released a broken title. The level design and controls are all right, but multiplayer, even local multiplayer suffers immensely due to lag and disconnection. The way Link controls in this game, the snappiness with which they walk and swing their swords, suffers more to lag than other games would. Singleplayer is also-- and I know it's very easy to exaggerate how poor things are in video games due to the history and popularity of the Angry Video Game Nerd-- dreadful. Being unable to move multiple links at a time without holding them slows what should be a breezy, snappy, little adventure into a slog. Four Swords on GameCube figured out how to make singleplayer playable, which makes it extra heartbreaking to see a cute, charming Zelda game, not taking place in hyrule, etc. just destroyed by the integration of multiple links.
Do not play this game by yourself. I can only imagine that would be sub-par experience even when removed from the expectations of a Zelda game. HOWEVER, if you have two friends to play with I would absolutely recommend it. I played the entire game using the co-op functionality with friends and I cried laughing multiple times. It was a blast. You can sabotage your buddies in a way that's funny for everyone, not just the person doing the sabotage.
This game banks unbelievably hard on multiplayer and even then, you MUST have 3 people to play multiplayer.(the people that I played with had a tiny bit of fun so 0.5+ for that lol) The stacking mechanic unintentionally stabs the single-player experience, it makes the gameplay tedious and shallow. The puzzles and combat are just like any other 2.5D Zelda game but more simplified, it's basically impossible to die. There's basically no story as-well lmfao.
