Overcooked 1 & 2 are absolute top tier party games, but they do require some actual video game acumen to be any useful at. Your mom will get frustrated playing this
Pretty good co op fun but I will say I enjoy the sequel and all you can eat a lot more those games just are a lot more fun.
don't know why I never reviewed this one way back when I played it. it's a solid party game, nothing more. fun to spend a couple hours burning through but not something I was ever really driven to revisit once we beat it

Addictive, frustrating fun. Playing with others can get heated, but it's actually fun to play solo, as you get to switch between characters to complete your tasks in record time without setting the kitchen on fire.

A lot of odd glitches from teleporting, dying randomly, and non-player 1 players getting dropped from the game occasionally. As for the game itself, it built a strong enough foundation to be enjoyable. The teamwork, time management, and decision making is impeccable. As a single player experience, the first game is way harder since you're unable to throw. I feel like the stage gimmicks are a lot more diverse and difficult than in the sequel, which surprised me. I'm not sure why some of the gimmicks didn't make a comeback like the dark room and the door panels. The game really shines when playing it in multiplayer though, where it puts your communication skills to the test. It can definitely be a frustrating experience and it will put your relationships to the test, but it has the accessibility and chaos that make it a fun game for casual gamers to enjoy too.

I first played this game when I had a friend stay at my place for a weekend, we went out during the day and played this game into the ground during the night until 3 or 4 in the morning.
Since then I have played it with so many other people, I have probably beaten it 5 times by now. It is not a game for everyone, it can get frustrating and if you don't maintain your cool or don't know how to tread when others lose theirs, it can suck. But trusting you can maintain a fun enviroment and enjoying the challenge of comunication, it is an awesome game. Extra points when I play with other people who also worked on food service.

The story is nothing, the characters are okay, but the gameplay is simply amazing. Levels are interesting, going for three stars feels challenging at times but never impossible.

The best cooperative game I've ever played; it changed the way I thought and acted with my friends, without exaggeration, and it came at a very special time, and even with its simplicity, there is no other word to define it other than perfect.
I do want to like it, but being able to enjoy this is circumstantial. I have a friend group that generally likes party games, but the way this works it ended up being a 2 timer then lay dormant in my switch library. I tried playing on my own just to finish it, but single player is technically there, but barely works on your own, and is definitely not as fun.
Solid party game that's fun to play with friends. You learn everything you need to know about how to play it immediately, but the level variety and shorter runtime keeps the game interesting throughout. Has a charming art style, too!
