One of my favorite games of all time. The story, the characters, the environment. Its all perfect, the sequels are good, but for some reason the first one gives me a way scarier feeling. More authentic and less like a story. Almost like this could happen if an apocalypse happened. And to finish off this review, KENNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking back on it, this felt like it should've been a TV mini-series. There really isn't a point to "the illusion of choice" games that Telltale depended on and milked dry, or at least in the way they did. While similar to point-and-click adventure games, it functions more as a tool for the narrative and thus the quality of the writing carries whether the game succeeds or not; So if the story sucks then everything crumbles and there's no reason to keep playing. Thankfully Season 1 is a solid yet easy-going experience.
I came into this game fresh and wow, just wow. This is an amazing game that is definitely worth the 10 hours. Even with the "dated" graphics, the story just drives the game and its amazing. Playing the second soon and excited for what's next. This has one of my favorite stories in all of gaming. 5/5
