The transition into 3D was mostly successful although I think it's at its best with more focused & linear level design within that 3D space. Weak soundtrack apart from a few standout tracks that are really good. More level themes would have been nice but the ones that are there are fun & fleshed out. Playing with the camera set to manual was good enough to fix the annoying automatic movement but as someone who is constantly adjusting the camera the constant error sounds were annoying throughout the whole playthrough. I'm a big fan of how funny Gex looks while climbing & the final boss was badass.
Today I, a mere mortal, shall commit a great act of hubris. I know deep in my heart it is not right for one such as I to "rate" the form god chooses to take, for I am but a humble creation of his, yet the gospel of Gex must be heard.
He is both a harbinger of great evil and yet the divine light of hope, an apotheosis containing all that is, and all that will be. It is impossible for us to fully understand him but I choose to believe he is a benevolent entity, lest I go mad. Though theologians are still debating the truthfulness of his message, as a humble acolyte of his lizardly radiance I need not know such trifles, I simply follow his teachings.
It's tail time.
