Let's set the record straight. This is better than the OG.

Please don't scream at me for liking it more than the original. The different playable characters are cool alright!?

Good one. Probably controls more like ass than I remember tho.

Played this on 3DS, so didn't have to deal with D-Pad movement, loved this game.

Might be better than the og ngl

What a classic
I am glad I got to experience it as a kid

I wish i could get across how much i was captured by this game, i played it before i had an understanding of the limits of video games as video games so as far as i was concerned the world was full of secrets and was alive. The vibe mario 64 gives off amplifies this too. Great game and good remake

Werid DS update that have a lot of quality of life like new stars and new playable character (Yoshi and Luigi being great) that limit to a d-pad but I still play this over based 64

My 3DS says 46 minutes... I definitely played a ton of this. I'm not sure that I made much progress, but it was awesome to just roam around and play the minigames on road trips. I don't think there's ever been a better minigame collection.

If it wasn't for it's horrible controls, this would be my favorite 3D Mario game.
And where is Waluigi?! Come on, Nintendo. Give our purple plumber boy a chance.

This really shouldn't have been my first exposure to Mario 64 as a kid but it had Yoshi so that was pretty sweet

Replayed this with mods to properly use the 3DS circle pad. It makes it actually playable, but overall I still feel like the original is the better overall package. It's cool to have more characters, but they feel more like a hassle that the game itself had to work around than anything that really adds to the game. And I'm not sure how we ever played this with a run button or touch controls because it's rough.

Also no BLJ, can't believe this.

Very good, very nostalgic 🤑

Glad that SM64 is available to more people, although in my opinion, this isn't as good as the original. The multiple characters both add to and take away from the original experience, and the addition of more stars and levels is an unalloyed plus. I also probably sank at least as much time into the minigames as I did into the game itself. Really cool that they tried to remake SM64 rather than just port it over, even if it doesn't 100% land.

this game is my childhood bahahahahaha

The definitive version of Super Mario 64
Wario is in it

An improvement over the original in every way, except for the part where the original could be controlled with human hands.

It's a beautiful game, I think we all know that. However, it's a shame that the camera is still not functioning properly and that swimming feels like you're carrying two 20kg bricks.

Used to play this all the time, pretty fun but not the best way to play SM64

does anyone else think its insane that this came out only eight years after the original? thats like if Mario Odyssey got a handheld remake literally next year and it somehow had better graphics

only thing holding this back from being earnestly better than the original is the tank controls. however. im extremely attached to this one

This is an excellent remake of the original. I love the concept of taking old classics and adding new content to them. This adds 30 new stars, a handful of new levels, four new playable characters, and fun minigames. This is mandatory playing for all owners of the Nintendo DS.

DOGSHIT PLAYER SIT THE FUCK DOWN

sm64 is bad because you can't walk in a straight line but thanks to the dpad controls you now can! thank you for fixing this game

Personally, I think it's better than the N64 original (the original was peak too honestly), but it may be nostalgia bias because I used to play this a lot when I was a kid.
