gonna pick this back up in a month or 2, i don't feel like playing this as of now

I LOVE the gameplay. I LOVE the aesthetic. I LOVE the characters.

I HATE the loop in the back half of the game. One of the few mobile platforms I felt I needed to cheat to be able to stomach. When I got through it, I ended up liking the ending but was extremely beaten down by their decision to needlessly pad the back half. This is even with the wonderful QOL features they introduced in this. I'm excited to play 2, but will be waiting with bated breath on reviews before getting it.

Game is tedious. I gave up once I hit a wall where I was somehow extremely under levelled and realized you had to play through it multiple times to get to the end. I think I may also just not have as much patience for random battles in games made after like 2002.

Sort of neat concept for the titular "Brave" and "Default" combat stances to shake up the standard battle format. Memorable characters and setting though and one of many nice throwbacks to earlier FFs.

Solid JRPG, and a very obvious nod to classic Final Fantasy, the plot isn't the biggest panacea, but the twist is nice (but not the fact involved to get to the true ending)

There is a looooot to love in this JRPG. The story was cool, the environments are cool, it has a nice twist, and this is the first game that I actually enjoyed using a job system. It does a lot right. My main gripes are that there are just too many loops towards the end of the game that it becomes really tedious. I think it could have been cut down without losing any narrative effect. Also the last boss was so hard, and I was past the point of no return that I just had to grind skeletons in the air ship to upgrade some jobs to cheese the boss with the infinite Valkyrie/Time Mage combo.

Insert obligatory chapter 5-8 complaint here

Fun game :)
