imo the best God Of War. kratos and atreus journey to the highest peak in the lands is captivating as fuck and the atmosphere of this game is so compelling for absolutely no reason. a lot of the mystery is so perfectly guised as something else by the end of the game the entire story will have been recontextualized as something else for you. definitely The Best Movie Game of all Time . combats alright. acting is phenomenal by everyone. play it yourself and give it a go but even on replay i was still really enjoying myself
Absolutely incredible in every aspect. I sometimes rewatch the opening cutscene on Youtube from time to time, I still boot up the soundtrack during my commutes, and to this day I think about some of its lines of dialogue or the overall dynamic between father and son. It's been well over a year since I've played this game and it never left me, I still resonate with it.
It is a simple story but the way its told is peak writing. After playing the previous mainline God of War games, this game sets up a perfect character arc for Kratos and somehow makes you like him even more.
The combat can be very challenging depending on the difficulty but brings great satisfaction and in my opinion surpasses the older games. Every single side quest has a story to tell that either connects to the main characters or story, all of them are worth completing. Every performance is on par with Hollywood blockbusters and makes you feel like you're experiencing a movie.
Although I don't believe a game can be perfect, this is one of those games where I have difficulty looking for negatives. Maybe there could have been more enemy variety or the addition of some sort of challenge of the titans mode so there's some replayability, the lack of these didn't negate my experience however. If you really don't enjoy linear story focused games this might not be for you but I would highly recommend trying it out regardless.

Incredible narrative single player experience. Sometimes all I want in a game is a straightforward cinematic story with decent enough 3rd person adventure/action gameplay. God of War ticks both of those boxes with ease, I was completely immersed in it’s incredible story and world.
I played the PS2 games as a kid and I don’t have much recollection of them besides: “bad-ass guy kills greek gods and there’s blood and boobs and shit”. So I never really saw this saga as a prime example of storytelling, but man this definitely took the series in an amazing and more mature direction while keeping and paying homage to the PS2 games. I love the whole Kratos is a now a broken man shtick, I could hear him talk with Atreus all day.
Gameplay-wise it’s pretty straightforward and there were some challenging bosses as well. Nothing mindblowing to be honest, but very entertaining.
Can’t wait to play Ragnarok once it comes out on PC!

I was extremely impressed by the story, the voice-acting, the graphics and the seamless gameplay-to-cutscene transitions. The gameplay was very enjoyable too. However, I feel that the combat wasn't too varied (although there's rarely anything more satisfying than the feedback of throwing your axe) and the enemies acted a bit too predictable for me. Still, the boss fights all felt epic and world-shaking!
