More polished gameplay, open world approach and more stuff to do make it a great upgrade over the original in the gameplay front, but I much preferred the story and characters of the original. In fact, besides not really getting to know the new cast as well, some of the returning cast felt strangely out of character, and the game relies too much on knowledge of the previous one to fully stand on its legs.
Still, a decent monster taming game of the more "Pokémon-like" school of game design.

Isso aqui é melhor que Pokémon ta? Graficamente perfeito e história MUITO boa.

An improvement over the original and less jank experience overall. The music is also a lot more memorable this time around. I thought I'd care less for the designs of the Nexomon in this game but they grew on me, and I think it might simply be the case of me missing the roster from the original game.
I love what the story does and I'm embarrassed Coco made me laugh as much as he did. YMMV with him. In the end I also actually filled the entire Nexomon database in this game and overall poured 60+ hours into the game, including the Abyssals DLC.

Unfortunately, this game depicts indigenous brown people in an unflattering manner again, however this time they don't have as much screentime.

The absolute best Pokemon clone and stands alongside the best actual Pokemon games (Gen V).

Engaging anime style storyline. Interesting monster designs. Lots of type matchups. Battling is deeper than most Pokemon games but not as engaging as TemTem. Still the story and art style make it worth the $20 to play it.
