Birthright is a lot like Awakening. If it wasn't tied to Conquest people might like it just a little more. The writing is out there and gameplay isn't really that challenging when you have played any other game in the series. The game isn't bad though. Unit customization is fun. It's just alright, it makes you appreciate Conquest's later chapters more.

The gameplay is pretty good. There are good designs in this and I did like some of the characters. But the story completely passed through me leaving nothing behind. I don't even feel strongly enough to even say it's bad, I just feel nothing towards it.

ryoma carried this one, I won't lie

Maybe this whole fantasy tactical role-playing genre is onto something

Such a... change after Fire Emblem Awakening. I remember dropping this after one of the characters died due to not having enough of a bond with him (if you're a fan, you know which one). The story wasn't the best and getting this arbitrary loss would cause me to replay this... mediocre story. Wasn't gonna happen.

YYOOUU AAREE THEEE OCCCEAAANN'SS GGRAAAYYWAAVEESS!

The most mediocre of the Fates games. The gameplay is fine, nothing special either way, and the story is the least offensive of the three. As with each route, there's some really great characters buried in here but overall probably the most forgettable Fates entry.

slightly better plot than conquest, but less fun maps and characters

Decent fire emblem, otherwise bogged down by baby system
