very basic, short, but well-designed metroidvania. dan was cooking when he made this and iji. soundtrack is a bop too. one of the few games that actually does something unique with difficulty levels beyond "we made some numbers bigger lmao".

if there was a tier list for games that cause screen burn-in most easily/commonly on the steam deck, hero core would be S-tier
