this game is like that one ponponpon lyric.
"don't know where i'm going to!"

seriously, i think 97% of my time was wandering around station square looking for the next level. the other 3% was actually playing the game,.

As a kid, I beat this on the Dreamcast and the GameCube. I used to love this game. The ability to have a small world to explore with each of these characters was really cool. However I recently played this and it hasn’t aged well. The voice acting is terrible, the graphics are awful, the stages and controls are clunky, and the chao garden is not as fleshed out yet so even that can’t save this one.

The sensitivity is incredibly bad, I clipped through the ground several times, and the camera is so frustrating to maneuver in a way that works. 10/10

Good game, but most of the levels have terrible level design. The last levels are good tho.

it's probably nostalgia talking

-1 star because of big tho

After finishing SA2:B over months of time I remember to finishing this first game in about a week or so, because I was never as frustrated and actually enjoyed my time. This game is flawed in many ways but something about it makes me remember it fondly. There's a nice sense of progression and world building. Somehow I didn't hate the Big the Cat fishing levels and sorta missed Froggy in the second game.

Maybe this is a newfound opinion people are coming around to, since I always heard it the other way around, but yeah this is the better Sonic Adventure game. The cutscenes weren't as egregious somehow, maybe cause it was the first attempt or I just don't recall them being as jarring. Ending sequence was cooler too.
