to start this off, this game is so long it has taken me 5 or so months to beat and yes that took away from my enjoyment but to be fair the length has to be the only thing i dislike about this game., other than that everything about this game is to be loved the combat is so graceful and impactful the voice acting is PEAK and the boss fights are something to be studied by philosophers to find out HOW THEY WERE MADE WITH SUCH CARE AND ENJOYMENT i think i have only ever been this ramped up and hyped fighting bosses with the souls games. what truly makes this game great is the story. this is the second final fantasy game ive played to completion and its my favorite of the 2 with the first being ff15 the character building motives and just everything is so great. i can say proudly that in the finaly sequence of the game in the last mission i genuinely cried and i think that it had so much build up and did not let down. i will be playing the dlc one day but not for a while. all in all i recommend this game to final fantasy lovers, rpg lovers, dmc fans but i do not recommend this game to someone who has a very busy life as you do need to put a lot of time into this game 9/10

Wow what a journey. I understand people’s complaints with pacing and the side quests and I kinda agree, but I feel like the highs let me look past that for the most part. I really enjoyed the overall story and liked the cast.

The combat was simple yet effective, and it was so cool what you can do with the tools the game gives you. I was a huge fan of the Eikon/Kaiju boss fights they were some of the coolest bosses I’ve fought in a game. The soundtrack was so fire too like usual with CBU3’s releases. The ending was really special to me too man. I feel like for the studios first singleplayer release, this game has been spectacular, and with the lessons learned by them and also SE’s other studios that can take influence, I have high hopes for the next FF entry. The indomitable human spirit shall prevail.

Brain rotted old final fantasy fans will say this “isn’t final fantasy” because it’s not turn based. I need them all lined up in front of me so I can individually rip off their toenails and make them choke to death on them because this is a top 5 FF game.

I liked the shift in gameplay quite a bit, and the story and characters were quite good. It was just a bit long. Felt a bit like a chore towards the end. Otherwise it’s the best FF game in a good while.

The longest feeling game I’ve played in a long time. I felt exhausted by the 30 hour mark.

Everything about this game is so cool man…

Man. If nothing else you have to give it to Square for not being afraid to shake it up.
Game has some major flaws, like potentially the most boring and inconsequential sidequesting and main narrative in jrpg history, but those fights are so fun! The acting is great too, I'll go to bat for Leeds lad Ralph Ineson any day, but this is some of his best VO work IMO.

What genuinely could have been one of the greatest games of all time, if not for it's frankly bad pacing, and tedious mission structure

This is literally the coolest thing ever, and I think it fucking sucks.

For a lot of the time I was playing, I couldn't decide if this was a B or an A. By the end I'd realized it should have been an S, but was held back with some unforced errors in both the writing and the structure of the game that sadly knock it back down.

That really was a Final Fantasy game
