Shrek: Fairy Tale Freakdown tries to bring the humor and fun of the movie to the Game Boy Color, but ends up mostly being a clunky fighting game. The characters are charming, but the basic gameplay feels repetitive and frustrating due to awkward controls. While there are some secrets and extra modes to unlock, the experience feels short and shallow for long-time Shrek fans.
