CyGames is fumbling really hard by not marketing this version of the game more cause this is a fantastic deal for a f2p fighting game that does a really great job at getting people to commit to buying the full version (I can say that from experience since several people I know trying this got them to get the full game, myself included)

Please get me out of this Free Edition hell the game's so fun why am i still stuck in Free Edition hell

after this many revisions, granblue versus is in a great spot with its mechanics. there is definitely a big need for some character rebalancing rn (as per arcsys standard, the top tiers are ridiculous), but most of all im glad there is finally a real arcsys game with both rollback and footsies. it's also an interesting glimpse into a fighting game without the need for motion inputs, and a much needed respite from games like sf6 where sloppy inputs literally lose you the entire match. if you like street fighter but don't enjoy how unforgiving its input system is, i highly recommend this game.

the only reason i'm not rating this higher is because i don't really like the monetization scheme, with no ability to buy individual characters and instead having to pay full price for a remaster of a game that came out years ago. i also think the character and mechanic balance need tweaking, as 66L is far too overwhelming of a universal move and the top tiers feel like they're playing a different game at times.

Really good for someone who's either never played granblue versus, never tried a fighting, or wants to give it a bit of a shot without wasting money. Compared to most free to play fighting games this one Is more of a demo where you can't buy the base roster characters and have to rely on the rotation of Gran + 3 random characters. One Minor or Major Issue of that rule Is that If you wanted to play another character for example like Vira or even Seox you have to wait until the week of that character Is on the rotation and keep In mind the game also does rotations based on which characters won a tournament a lot of the time so get ready to see Nier or Siegfried on rotation nearly biweekly which Is a little disappointing if you wanted to try the other characters unless you're hard locked on playing Gran. Rotation aside the fact this exists at all is pretty good and If you haven't gotten a chance to play granblue versus or want to give rising a try this isn't a bad deal.

5/10

More fighting game companies need to employ this rotating cast of characters every week.

Went to Combo Breaker and now this game has me by the balls and is threatening to twist

Need to play more but it was fun from what I've played seen, cool art style and quality game overall.
