Pretty fun! Finally started to mold into the Civ games that I know and love, thanks to cultural borders, charming animations, and the goofy leader portraits. Fun fact: I saw people playing this back in middle school and wanted to get a Civ game. My parents got me Civ IV, not Civ III, which then turned out to be one of my favorite games ever

One of the first strategy games i played.
There were many good things in this game, like you needed to have some mandatory stuff to allow city to grow, good diplomacy system with leaders advancing throught ages and changing their clothes (sorry, Lincoln, no suit for you in ancient era). Also some of extra scenarios were amazing, like Japan one.

Sadly combat, while interesting, was pretty random and balance of some civs and abilities was bad (some civilizations were a lot worse than others).

One of my favorite games of all time, I have played it in the year of our lord 2023 and it still holds up

I enjoy the game thoroughly, and would personally give it a 5/5. But can't recommend it in good conscience.

This was loads of fun! This got me hooked to Civ. I played this first even though V was out because I wanted to go back as far as I could and I am glad I did.

Difficulty Played: Regent

Seems like a good time killer and I'm not into games that look like this but it's kinda frustrating when you're trying to learn about how to be good in this game

I think I'll try a newer one. This feels very old.

I always take the germans because Panzer goes FIUUU (1+ movement compared to normal tanks)

The first Civ I ever played. Changed and shaped my gaming preferences for the rest of my life
