This was the first ever city management game I played. It was incredibly eye-opening to my little 9 year old brain of what was possible under the umbrella "video game". This game had really cool events and little touches unlike many of it's competitors. The soundtrack was also god tier smooth jazz vibes.
This game was awesome as a kid! I loved building cities and having sims living there. It was always fun to see what they say. "Commute is like a Sunday drive" or something about the Bermuda triangle when they can't get somewhere lol. I loved that it was kind of like playing the sims in a way. Mom wouldn't let me play the Sims when I was under 13 - not even just days before my birthday. But I could play this, no problem! (I get it, but it was very frustrating at the time. I'd play it when she wasn't around haha.) Back to this game, I'd always end up with a negative budget since I didn't really understand finances yet, I'd add on stuff too fast and not make enough revenue. I loved being able to shape the land the way I wanted and cause disasters when I wanted. I remember setting off volcanoes on a few cities before I started building and then build on top of it.
